Good afternoon my darling family and friends. Today, Monday, October 9, our city is celebrating the fantastic win of the Saints against the Patriots 34-0. I feel blessed to have enjoyed a week full of fun events and look forward to another one. “Every day, think as you wake up: Today I am fortunate to be alive, I have a precious human life, I am not going to waste it.” —Dalai Lama XIV. Wishing you a blessed week.
May be an image of text that says 'Today Is Monday esterday is gone, is unknown, we have is today. we be thankful this day that we blessed with. Feeling Happy, and Grateful Asking the LORD take your hand, walk thưough WEEK with you May your DAY and WEEK Be BLESSED!'
I just love the month of October and all its cultural and fundraiser events. Last week as you can see in the photos, it was spectacular and the upcoming week it is going to be a social decathlon for me.
Yesterday, before I went to the BK House and Garden's Soiree, I stopped by the opening reception of "Le Code Noir  . which will Voices in the Dark Repertory Theatre Company will present its Inaugural Premiere of New Orleans’ first outdoor historical drama, - “Le Code Noir” (The Black Code)  Friday, October 13 through Sunday, October 15, at Congo Square.
Twenty-seven years in the making, “Le Code Noir” was written by the late Mark R. Sumner (Director Emeritus of the Institute of Outdoor Drama) and award-winning producer /director Tommye Myrick. The drama takes its name from “Code Noir, " an edict issued and written by King Louis XIV of France in 1685. Its 48 articles laid down rules for governing the enslaved and the Free People of Color and ordered the expulsion of the Jewish population from France's colonies in the Western Hemisphere. The Code remained in effect until Emancipation in the early 1860s.

Mother Nature provided a glorious evening to enjoy the awesome Historic BK House and Gardens' Soiree in the Vieux Carre.   Mr. and Mrs. Richard Freeman were honored at this year’s Soiree for their longstanding and generous support of Historic BK House & Gardens. Each year, the annual fundraiser supports a major capital improvement project, ensuring the long-term viability and versatility of the site. This year’s fundraiser will support the continued restoration of the main building’s envelope, the courtyard-facing and downriver facades. Work includes repair and replacement of historic millwork, windows, doors, decking, & stucco. Congratulations on a very memorable and delicious soiree!

My fun-loving night of Oct 7 started at the presentation of the 24th National Juried Art Show of the New Orleans Art Association at the building at 1427 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd. Congratulations to the winners.

The Women's Guild of the New Orleans Opera presented the return of the New Orleans Opera Ball, this year, with a Tennessee Williams-inspired theme of "A Streetcar Named Desire". The spectacular ball was kicked off with a Patron Party featuring the soulful music of Anaïs St. John at Rosie's on the Roof at 6 pm, followed by the big event at 7 pm at the Higgins Hotel's Arcadia Ballroom. Just like a ride on our historic streetcars, the Opera Ball this year was a journey to celebrate all that makes New Orleans unique – our music, our culture, and our joie de vivre. The main affair included a seated dinner, party music by the BRW Band, and silent and live auctions hosted by Marshall Harris.  Congratulations to the President of the Women's Guild Joanne Mantis, the Opera Ball Co-Chairs Rebeccka Coe and Susan Garic Mitchell and auction

My evening continued and concluded at a group art exhibit by my darling longtime friends Hernan Caro, Tina W Hall, Jacques Soulas Stephen Hedgecock, Marianna Canu Art, as part of 'Art for Art's Sake. The lovely condo of Lisa J Johnson, Art Consultant LLC is with Swincinski Fine Art was transformed into an incredibly special place.

At the invitation of my longtime friend Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser, my roommate Rick Tringali and I attended the spectacular Grand Opening of the Louisiana Civil Rights Museum in Hall A of the Convention Center. To me it was like a reunion of memorable people from my past. I enjoyed meeting some of the distinguished Civil Right Leaders and seeing longtime friends. It was a long program, and I didn't stay to see the Museum, but I am looking forward to touring this particularly important museum.
Big Chief Tyrone Casby with legendary Civil Right Leader Jerome Smith & Cherrise Harrison-Nelson

Just like I expected, the much anticipated "Evening with Walter Issacson - Elon Musk" at the Nims Fine Art Center was illuminating. Walter Isaacson was joined in conversation by author Amy Gajda who wrote Seek and Hide: The Tangled History of the Right to Privacy. After the discussion, Isaacson was available to chat with guests and personalize copies of Elon Musk. I cannot wait to read my personalized book.
Walter Isaacson's sweeping biography of SpaceX CEO Elon Musk reveals what drives the innovative entrepreneur to consistently push the envelope. Love him or hate him, it can't be denied Elon Musk is one of the most influential figures of our time.
The founder and CEO of SpaceX not only leads the most revolutionary and active spaceflight company on the planet, but also heads the electric car company Tesla and social media giant X (formerly known as Twitter), to name just a few of Musk's many endeavors.
Biographer and journalist Walter Isaacson spent two years with Musk in order to write "Elon Musk," a new, best-selling biography that explores what makes the entrepreneur and innovator tick.
 Enjoy this upcoming week
