Good morning darlings. I hope you are enjoying this glorious mask-free 2021 Memorial Day Weekend! 
Today , Monday, May 31, 2021, Americans across the country celebrate the brave servicemen and servicewomen who died defending our country. 
Whether you celebrate by hosting a backyard BBQ get-together or having a simple and intimate moment of silence with your loved ones, Memorial Day is a special time to honor America’s history and commemorate the bravery, courage, and honor of our troops.
“To those in uniform serving today and to those who have served in the past, we honor you today and every day.”




Today memorial Day 2021,  Even though they are not Americans,  I am remembering all three of my fallen heroes:  My Uncle General Vicente Bergen, who died during the Cuban Revolution and my two  half brothers Manolo  and Ramon Alfonzo Suarez who died overthrowing the tyranny of Generalisimo Rafael Trujillo. May their heroic souls RIP. 
I am sure are and I feel blessed to be surrounded by longtime friends that invited me to join them in their celebrations!

 Life is much better when you join your longtime friends celebrating the birthday of Scott King at a lovely, delicious al fresco birthday bash.
Dave Hurlbert , Director of Marigny Opera Ballet, Marigny Opera House and his partner Scott King recently purchased their “dream home” ,  the spectacular former residence of George and Wendy Rodrigue in the Marigny!

On Sunday morning,  I was invited by my roommate Rick Tringali to join his mother Libby and the family to enjoy and discover JAMNOLA next to NOCCA.
was so much fun, and
 I was amazed at the 
creativity that went into creating this fabulous venue. I recommend it highly♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

I loved visiting and learning at the new Museum of the Southern Jewish Experience that opened in the CBD
Visitor Margarita Bergen enjoys an interactive exhibit at the newly opened Museum of the Southern Jewish Experience at 818 Howard Avenue in New Orleans, La. Thursday, May 27, 2021. Due to continued coronavirus concerns the museum opened its doors at 10 a.m. without a formal ceremony which is hoped to take place later in the year. The museum explores the Jewish experience throughout 13 states in the American South in the last 300 years. As our great and wonderful city of New Orleans and the rest of the world return to normalcy, Margarita Bergen, Hostess of the Round Table Luncheon, is joining forces to co-host along with Liz Glaser Broekman, Director of Fidelity Bank’s P.O.W.E.R  Program to honor 10 women who have displayed leadership and endurance and have persevered during this past year- and-a-half of the COVID 19 quarantine.

The Honorees are:

·         Jennifer Avegno, M.D., Director of the New Orleans Department of Health
·         Ana Maria Bech, Publisher/Director Viva Nola
·         Deb Elam, President and CEO, Corporate Playbook™
·         Cherice Harrison-Nelson, Queen of the Guardians of the Flame
·         Tamara Jackson, Executive Director of Silence is Violence
·         Natalie Jayroe, President and CEO of the Second Harvest Food Bank
·         Jennifer Kelley Killian, Executive Director of the Louisiana Hospitality Foundation 
·         Suzaune Yee McKamey, Chanteuse and Entertainer 
·          Anne Delery McWhorter,  owner of Quiet Calm, LLC. that works in autism and domestic violence.
               Anita Matamoros Oubre-  Member of the Baby Dolls, writer, and lover of life 
·              Tammy O’Shea, Chief Marketing Officer at Fidelity Bank

Entertainment will be by talented cabaret singer, honoree Suzaune Yee McKamey, accompanied on the piano by Jim Walpole.

Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and the luncheon itself, with guest speakers, will begin at 12:00 noon.
 
The luncheon, specially prepared by Executive Chef Peter Isaac and Chef of Cuisine John Trinch, will feature

Briquette Salad,Baby market greens, cherry tomatoes, eggplant caviar, goat cheese, and house dressing. Snapper Pontchartrain,Pan seared gulf snapper topped with Hollandaise sauce finished with lump crab meat.  Served with heirloom potatoes and baby green beans. New Orleans Bread Pudding,Finished with a Bourbon sauce, French bread and butter and ice tea

The $65 per person is all-inclusive, with Champagne and wines included. RSVPs are being taken by Margarita Bergen by Venmo, Zelle (Chase), or by sending a check ASAP indicating the date you wish to attend the luncheon to Margarita Bergen, 811 Marigny Street, Unit C, New Orleans, LA 70117.
