Good morning my darling family & friends. A beautiful sunny Monday, September 26 awaits us. Today is our day to shine like the sun. Let the sunshine in you and shine out of you and make each moment count.  It is such a pleasure to wake up to another beautiful morning! Every day is a blessing. And I hope you never hesitate to accept that. Today is a hopeful day. A day to be optimistic about our lives and thank the Lord for all the things that he has blessed us with. Have a grateful Monday and a lovely week.

WOW, this morning I am still recuperating for my swirl of fundraisers and soirees that keep me going like an Eveready battery
Of course, i feel blessed to live in my beloved New Orleans and be able to attend and wished that I had a clone so I didn't miss the one that I could not attend.
Before I share all the fun soirees and fundraisers that I attended and will attend, I am happy to report that the upcoming Round Table Luncheon Saluting The Hispanic Heritage Month and Halloween on Oct 12 at Brasa is completely SOLD -OUT
WYES’s preview of the premiere screening of its latest documentary: Dr. Norman C. Francis - A legacy of Leadership - was awesome. It brought together his family, the Landrieu, the Morial ‘s family and many of my longtime friends. The documentary will air on WYES TV on Tuesday, September 27 at 8 pm.. The Women of Fashion’s Fall Membership Meeting was informative and delicious. The meeting was held at the exquisitely remodeled former Lutheran church in Mid City owned by Robin and Scott Borne. During the meeting the Men & Women of Fashion 's Prix D'Elegance Luncheon to be held on March 15, 2023 was discussed and was followed by a delicious healthy light lunch prepared by hostess Robin Borne whose background is in restaurants, recently started a clean desserts business called ReBorne Bakery

Where else but New Orleans!
Each year, this hotel honors the group of women who first stormed the hotel's Sazerac Bar in 1949, demanding equality and a drink. https://bit.ly/2NtcKQk

OMG what a fun and delicious way to celebrate WYES ‘s 65 years at the exquisite A Station for All Seasons Gala at the Four Seasons. Guests were dressed as their favorite season as they took part in a fabulous, memorable Gala.  I didn’t want to leave to go to see Diana Krall but I had great VIP tickets, and I did enjoy her show.

As always what a delicious and fun 9th Keeping Our Promises Gala for the DePaul Foundation at the National WW Two Museum.
DePaul Community Health Centers have provided compassionate health care in New Orleans for 180 years. After the sale of Hotel Dieu Hospital in 1992, the Daughters transitioned their efforts, establishing a community health ministry known today as DePaul Community Health Centers of New Orleans. It has advanced the long tradition of health ministry to the people of New Orleans, especially the under-served, through the development of a values-driven organization dedicated to primary care and preventive health services, addressing the needs of the total individual – body, mind, and spirit.

When the New Orleans City Council voted unanimously to rename Jefferson Davis Parkway in Mid-City to Norman C. Francis Parkway in August 2020, it confirmed what many across the country knew: the retired Xavier University of Louisiana president is a living legend, an icon worthy of every tribute he has earned during a more than 70- year long career.

In a new WYES-TV documentary, DR. NORMAN C. FRANCIS: A LEGACY OF LEADERSHIP, Dr. Francis will reflect on his monumental life in a one-on-one interview. Archival photos, video and interviews with Dr. Francis’ family, friends and colleagues will document his career of service and leadership.

When Gioachino Rossini premiered his opera “The Barber of Seville” in Rome on Feb. 20, 1816, everything that could go wrong went wrong. A string snapped on a singer’s guitar as he began playing.

RIBBONS ROCK THE RUNWAY is the theme of You Night’s Annual Gala, scheduled to take place Saturday, October 1st at the Sugar Mill in New Orleans. The evening features a 500 foot-long runway stage, where 500 models will walk the runway representing the ribbon colors of 18 women’s cancers. The event raises funds to support the “We Lift You Up” fund - a 501c3 public charity dedicated to helping women emotionally cope after a cancer diagnosis. By attempting to break a world record for the most amount of models in a runway show, Ribbons Rock will set out to bring awareness to women battling 18 different types of cancers. In a month where pink is always the dominant ribbon color talked about (and justifiably so - with so many women diagnosed each year), You Night hopes to expand the conversation to include the many other types of cancers that women have. Through our efforts, we hope many other women will find resources for early detection, self-care, and ways to find support for those diagnosed.
Ribbons Rock is open to the public and includes live entertainment from The Molly Ringwalds, and the two-hour high-energy runway show where the procession of models will be wearing fashionable clothes (of their choosing) in the colors of 18 different awareness ribbons. Walking with the cancer survivor role models will be professional models represented by Chic Nouvelle Modeling Agency, Positive Image Modeling and Coastal Fashion week.
I have attached a Press Release with details regarding the event.
