A Toast to NO: Dr. Seuss/ Happy Thanksgiving 2016‏

Darlings,

 Summer Days are gone... As the song goes:"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas;
Soon the bells will start,
And the thing that will make them ring is the carol that you sing
Right within your heart."
.I hope you are enjoying the cooler weather that finally is reflecting the time of the year.

I am still recuperating from a very hectic last week. It was full of cultural and social fun events that make New Orleans a great place to live and I enjoyed them tremendously!

I started my week by attending the opening of the spacious Greater New Orleans Foundation’s Center for Philanthropy, located on Lee Circle at 919 St. Charles Ave.  Enjoy the link: Opening of the Greater New Orleans Foundation’s Center for Philanthropy https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10153839059835870.1073742733.581200869&type=1&l=bb414f8d9c

Of course, the highlight of my week was hosting the November Literary Luncheon. The November Round Table Luncheon was one of the best. The quality of the speakers and entertainers made it a very informative, entertaining and memorable one. The next one on December 14 at noon is almost SOLD OUT (see below for details).

Peggy Scott Laborde: Journalist and author of The Fair Grounds Through the Lens: Photographs and Memories of Horse Racing in New Orleans;  journalists Gwen Thompkins and Alyn Shipton (editor) A Life in Jazz by Danny Barker, published by The Historic New Orleans Collection;

 This photo probably is going to be my favorite 2016 Holiday photo at City Park's Celebration in the Oaks. Can you tell that I love RED and poinsettias?
