A Toast to NO: Film Festival/ O What a Night/ Carnaval Latino/ Grupo Corpo/CADA's Carnivale‏ and more.....

Thank you my darling friend ,talented photographer Cheryl Gerber for capturing Duchess Chiquita Bergen and a casual me at the awesome Louisiana Photography Biennial at the New Orleans Center. A Toast to all of YOU!

Darlings,
I hope you are enjoying the cooler autumn weather!
Every since my return from sunny Destin, the weather has been glorious so I could enjoy the myriad of fun events that greeted me upon my return.
Among those soirees that I attended was the awesome annual Ella Brennan Life Achievement in Hospitality Gala. The Gala, held at the Ritz-Carlton, was spectacular and delicious. The New Orleans Wine & Food Experience honored my darling friend: Ralph Brennan, President, Ralph Brennan Restaurant Group. The entire Brennan Family was there and it was so good to see Ella Brennan and her family.
The Gala featured the following restaurants: Balise with Chef Justin Devillier; Brennan's with Chef Slade Rushing; Commander Palace's with Chef Tory McPhail; Emeril's Delmonico with Chef Anthony Scanio; Sobou with Chef Juan Carlos Gonsalez; Tableau with Chef Ella Lam, and fabulous dessert by Chef Thierry Connault and Pastry Chef Ravindra Verma of the Ritz Carlton.  https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10153730725310870.1073742713.581200869&type=1&l=c6dcb287c5

On Friday it was time to attend the fabulous opening night of Don Giovanni, the popular opera by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart that opened the 2016-17 New Orleans Opera Association season at the Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts. It was a memorable performance. Don Giovanni, sung by Daniel Okulitch and Audrey Babcock as Donna Elvira, were superb as well as the entire cast. A beautiful evening greeted the patrons in an outdoor soiree around the Norman Treigle Fountains prior to the opening. Thanks to my darling friends, Maestro Robert Lyall and Timothy Todd Simmons, I was able to go backstage and meet the talented performers.  https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10153733068870870.1073742714.581200869&type=1&l=24f1849b79
After those elegant events, I took it easy and, on Saturday, I went to to the opening of the  Louisiana Photography Biennial where many of my friends are exhibiting their photos. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10153734368195870.1073742715.581200869&type=1&l=e6946f4eb0

This year’s artist, Cynthia Ramirez, will build the altar in dedication to Allen Toussaint. A legendary New Orleans musician, songwriter, record producer and one of the most influential figures in New Orleans R&B, Mr. Toussaint died November 10, 2015.
