Darling friends,
I hope this blog will find you healthy, peaceful, and safe and enjoyed and honored Father's Day 2020.
I have been trying my very best under this historic isolation period to stay positive and sane. A social butterfly like me needs to find activities to take me out of the house and fortunately, I am surrounded by friends that join me in a weekly Friday luncheon,
Three of my darling friends celebrated their birthday at Galatoire's They were Donna Hemsler, Laurie Scott, and Nathan Davila. We had a great time exercising the utmost social distance possible.

Darlings, every Friday, I feel like a bird that has been out of its cage. This time it was a birthday celebration of three of my darling friends Donna Hamsher, Laurie Scott, and Nathan Davila. WE had a great time.

Darlings, I want to wish you all a peaceful, healthy Monday, June 22.2020
Today's news is not as comforting as I like to see but you must remember that there is something great every single day and it is important to remember that.
Let this Monday be kind to you: be happy with what you have and accept the things which you cannot change. Although Mondays can be hard and it can seem like the worst day of the week, there will be something good that will come out of that day. Believe that, and look out for that great thing and embrace it. If you don't feel like anything great is going to happen on your Monday, make it happen for yourself. Attack Monday with enthusiasm, laughter, thousands of smiles, and cheerfulness.
Every Monday is a chance to start a new life, so use it.

Darling Friends:

I am happy to report that my monthly Round Table Luncheons will resume on Wednesday, July 15!
I am calling it "A Path to Recovery and Normalcy Round Table Luncheon" and it will be at Galatoire’s famous restaurant at 209 Bourbon Street, in the French Quarter. Doors open at 11:30 and the luncheon itself, with guest speakers, will begin at 12:00 noon.

The event is sold-out but those wishing to attend should phone in or send an email to get onto the waiting list, as some cancellations might be expected. Following strict social distance regulations, the luncheon has been limited to only 72 guests in tables of six.
Guests and speakers are required to wear masks and a prize will be awarded for the most creative mask.

July 15 is "Bastille Day" and as such, I have invited talented Givonna Joseph, co-founder, and co-director of Opéra Créole, to sing the French national anthem, “La Marseillaise.”

Invited guest speakers include Mayor LaToya Cantrell, Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser, Chief Medical Editor for WDSU Channel 6 Dr. Corey Hebert, President/CEO Daniel Hammer of The Historic New Orleans Collection (THNOC ) and President of the New Orleans Entertainment Coalition Sandra Thompson Herman.

In addition to Givonna Joseph, the live entertainment will include the talented and beloved entertainers Becky Allen, Marshall Harris, and pianist Jim Walpole.

Executive Chef Phillip Lopez has prepared a delicious menu:

Salad: Salad Maison
Entrée: Trout Amandine with Steamed Asparagus
Dessert: Caramel Cup Custard

To get onto the waiting list or to cancel a reservation send me a message at 504-495-9181or email at margaritabergen@hotmail.com

The Round Table Luncheon is celebrating its 15th year. Since it started in August 2005, the monthly event has been attracting a distinguished guest list of influential movers and shakers. Modeled after Dorothy Parker’s famed gatherings at the old Algonquin Hotel in New York, each luncheon focuses on a current topic of interest locally within the arts, cultural activities, and philanthropic initiatives that set our community apart and enhance our quality of life.

People love roses, and roses are among the more commonly planted shrubs in our landscapes. Tough, reliable landscape roses are generally incorporated right into landscape beds like any other shrub.
