It’s the most wonderful time of the year at The Roosevelt New Orleans!

Mark your calendars for the return of our dazzling Holiday display….Tuesday, November 29 we flip the switch and deck the halls! We can’t wait to celebrate with you this Holiday Season!

By Shan Bailey

- Legendary singer Irma Thomas, known as the “Soul Queen of New Orleans,” will lead the lighting of the Waldorf Wonderland at the Roosevelt New Orleans on Nov. 29.

Each year, the Roosevelt Hotel’s beloved New Orleans holiday tradition helps to mark the start of the season.

As Roosevelt’s 2022 honorary lobby lighter, Thomas will flip the switch on more than 112,000 twinkling lights, 1,600 feet of garland and 4,000 glass ornaments adorning The Roosevelt’s block-long, grand lobby. The lobby lighting begins at 5 p.m.

The long-awaited New Orleans holiday tradition returns each November to celebrate the launch of the holiday season. Following the lobby lighting, the Roosevelt New Orleans opens its breathtaking lobby for visitors to partake in the beauty and spirit of the season.May be an image of chandelier

I always look forward to attending and photographing the annual Galatoire's  auction of tables for the Friday before Christmas and Mardi Gras, but these auctions are going to be incredibly special since the New Orleans Jazz Museum is one of the beneficiaries.

The Children’s Hospital Holiday Parade will roll on Saturday, Dec. 3 in partnership with the Downtown Development District, NewOrleans.com and Kern

NEW ORLEANS – At a news conference held at Mardi Gras World Thursday, Nov.10, details were unveiled for the first-of-its-kind Children’s Hospital New Orleans Holiday Parade which will take place in downtown New Orleans Saturday, Dec. 3 starting at 11 a.m.

Kicking off the holiday season, the more than 20 float parade will include custom-designed holiday themed floats that include animatronic props, intelligent lighting systems, special effects and audio systems, along with traditional rider floats, bringing the joy and magic of the holiday season to thousands of parade-goers.

Nickens IV, President and CEO of Children’s Hospital New Orleans. “We invite the community to join us for an afternoon of joy and fun as we kickoff the holiday season together.”

The parade will also feature high-flying helium balloons displayed for the first-time in New Orleans, along with the beloved marching groups and bands that the citizens of New Orleans have come to love – and of course, Santa himself with his cast of holiday characters.
