Good afternoon my darling family and friends. It's a beautiful, cool Monday, December 18! Our beloved New Orleans community is elated about the fabulous victory of the Pelicans and the Saints. Congratulations! I am grateful for the incredible memorable week, and I am looking forward to all the holiday festivities that this new week will bring! “Every day, think as you wake up: Today I am fortunate to be alive, I have a precious human life, I am not going to waste it.” — Dalai Lama XIV-HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
This past week of December 11-17 was full of fun-filled events. Of course, the highlight of my week was my annual spectacular sold-out Round Table Luncheon at Briquette's. The entertainment, the food, the festive costumes, the cuisine, the sparkling champagne, the delicious strawberry margaritas courtesy of Jorge Lauriano Jr. made it a very memorable one.
Put down in your calendar that the next RTL will be a jazzy Mardi Gras 2024 RTL and will be cohosted by talented roommate Rick Tringali on Friday, January 19 at noon at the historic New Orleans Jazz Museum. The NOCCA Foundation, The Times-Picayune | New Orleans Advocate, and the family of Daniel Price invite you to Home for the Holidays on Wednesday, December 20, 2023. This annual concert event will be held at House of Blues New Orleans, located at 225 Decatur Street. Home for the Holidays is a night of spectacular art and music benefiting the Daniel Price Memorial Fund for Aspiring Artists, which honors the memory of NOCCA alum Daniel Price (Visual Arts, 1993). The fund was established following Daniel's death at the age of 28 while protecting his wife from an assailant. Daniel's fund is part of the NOCCA Foundation's Student Success Program, which provides NOCCA's young artists with year-round support for training, supplies, and college scholarships. Patron Party: 6:30pm - 8:00pm Home for the Holidays kicks off with a patron party from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. Gold- and Silver-level patrons will be treated to back-to-back performances by two New Orleans legends: Irma Thomas and John Boutte! Both Gold and Silver patrons will enjoy a buffet dinner and open bar during the patron party, plus a fabulous silent auction featuring artwork by NOCCA alumni who've received the Daniel Price Award. Patrons will also have all-night access to the Parish Room, where there will be an open bar from 8pm until the end of the Home for the Holidays concert. Our 80 Gold-level patrons will receive reserved seating in the House of Blues lounge for the entire evening.

Tonight Grammy Award winner Irma Thomas will be entertaining us at the Free concert at St. Louis Cathedral at 6 p.m.

Last minute to pay and RSVP for the spectacular Round Table Luncheon on Friday, December 15 at 11:30 AM at Briquette's. We will be entertained by popular Latin Guitarists Julio and Cesar, talented entertainers Kynt Kenneth Bryant, Kate Fagan Burgun, Marshall Harris, Bill Hudson, Carl Mack, Paul Mauffray, MaryFlynn Thomas, and Suzaune Yee McKamey performing the popular 12 Days of Christmas. Talented New Orleans Queen of Mardi Gras Posters Andrea Mistretta will be unveiling her 2024 Mardi Gras Poster. Limited to only 220 guests. Champagne will be flowing as well as the delicious Cucumber Hendrick's Gin provided by Jorge Lauriano Jr. , Division Manager at William Grant & Sons
Darlings last week was a very hectic week, full of fun-filled events. Unfortunately, after attending 4 parties on Friday and the lovely and delicious Hall of Fame Awards Luncheon at Briquette, my light dimmed, and I could not Get -Lit at the spectacular Art Council's Luna Fete Ball. I hate missing it since I have bought an incredibly beautiful gown with colorful lights. I also missed the Opera Guild's Eggnog Soiree.
Among the memorable soirees that I attended were the following:
The annual Hall of Fame Awards Ceremony of the Louisiana Center for Women in Government and Business .This year,the Center bestowed not just one, but two Lifetime Achievement Awards to Gayle Benson and First Lady Donna Edwards. Both women were honored for their amazing achievements in business and for their incredible generosity they have shown to so so many deserving entities throughout the state.
It also inducted into the Hall of Fame Major Andrea Renee Brinkley from the Lafourche Parish Sheriffs Office; New Orleans entrepreneur Laurie Guimont; environmental justice activist Sharon Lavigne, and former Louisiana state representative and founder of Ellevate Julie Stokes. It also honored two outstanding Men for Supporting Strong Women, Dr. Jay Clune, president of Nicholls State University, and Commissioner of Administration for Gov. John Bel Edwards, and former Lieutenant Governor Jay Dardenne.
Congratulations to the honorees of Louisiana Center for Women in Government & Business's 2023 Hall of Fame Awards Ceremony at Briquette! It was a memorable and delicious luncheon.

The holidays are never a total joy ride and certainly never the "Sleigh Ride" that the Ronettes sang about: "It'll nearly be like a picture print by Currier and Ives / These wonderful things are the things / We remember all through our lives."
But wouldn't you like to be able to remember all the "wonderful things" and to remember them throughout the rest of your life? One of the biggest revelations of newly sober people is that they can, for the first time in a long time, remember what happened the night before. Now, when you make good holiday memories, they will stay with you.

This past week was a very exciting one that concluded on Sunday at the annual delicious Latke with a Twist at NOCCA.
Jewish Children’s Regional Service kicked off the Hanukkah festivities Sunday (Dec. 3) with the ninth annual Latkes with a Twist, a fundraising event that celebrates the classic potato pancakes along with libations and live music. Talented Chef Stephen Stryjewski, of the Link Restaurant Group and Forrest Jackson, chef de cuisine of Couchon Butcher, created a delicious and unique latke bar, with additional treats from Orit Naghi and Mardi Gras Zone.
It’s Christmas Time and as such we celebrated at the Annual Patio Planters' Holiday Luncheon at Antoine’s
I must confess that the highlight of my social week was the spectacular 6th Annual Improvisation Gala Fundraiser for the New Orleans Jazz Museum !
The Remi Martin Coñac Dinner at Briquette’s on Saturday was exquisitely delicious!
Always a great time at the Krewe of Cork ‘s annual Holiday luncheon 
Of course , On Friday I had to stop at Galatoire and see my darling longtime friends

The Spectacular Holiday Round Table Luncheon celebrating the holidays and Navidad will take place on Friday, December 15 at noon at Briquette's - The live entertainment will be spectacular and will include among others Suzaune Yee McKamey doing the popular 12 Nights of Christmas, guitarists Julio and Cesar performing Feliz Navidad, talented entertainers MaryFlynn, Kate Flagan , Carl Mack, Marshall Harris, Paul Mauffray, and others. $75 all inclusive. The chefs are preparing a delicious menu that will be shared later.
