I started the evening of Sunday, October 15 by stopping by The Maison for the lovely Nickell a Dance featuring NEW LEVIATHAN Oriental Foxtrot Orchestra,
The New Leviathan Oriental Foxtrot Orchestra is an American revival orchestra, which performs orchestrations of vintage American popular music from the 1890s through the early 1930s.
NICKEL-A-DANCE is a free series of Sunday afternoon traditional jazz concerts started in 1994 that now take place each spring and fall season, and is a hit with children, families, seniors, and the general dancing public that don’t tend to go to night clubs.  It attracts a diverse group of fans that meet on Frenchmen Street to celebrate jazz as America’s original dance music while listening to the best of today’s classic jazz .
On Sunday, my friend Pal Dybel and I joined the Louisiana Landmarks Society for the return of Fete du Jardin with the theme CÉLÉBRATION DES CARAÏBES-Honoring the unique character of the Pitot House by celebrating its West Indies style architecture. It was indeed a festive evening of music by the talented Julio & Cesar Band, delicious cuisine, cocktails, and lovely Bayou breezes.  I enjoyed seeing so many of my longtime friends.
The Louisiana Landmarks Society promotes historic preservation through education, advocacy, and the operation of Pitot House. PITOT HOUSE at 1440 Moss Street, New Orleans, LA 70119

Dominicans sure know how to have fun as evidenced at the first DOMINICAN NOLA FEST at the New Orleans Jazz Museum.  It was perfect ending of the Hispanic Heritage Month .
Wearing the patriotic colors of the Dominican flag -Blue, red, and white I thoroughly enjoyed a Dominican fiesta of great music, delicious food and comradery of longtime friends. Congratulations to talented Musician, Songwriter & Composer from the Dominican Republic Fermin Ceballo, leader of Merengue4Four, Greg Lambousy Director of the New Orleans Jazz Museum, Hon. Tony Genoa Consul of Dominican Republic and the Consulate for a spectacular Fest.
I am looking forward to joining them for a cultural trip to Dominican Republic at the end of February. The festival supports and brings awareness to the museums’ JAZZ INTERNATIONAL initiative and its partners in the Dominican Republic. Partners include the Ministry of Culture, University Autonomous of Santo Domingo, Bella des Artes, and Acroarte. As well as Hipolito Guerrero, violinist at Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional, who has collaborated with the museum to build out a new Ruth U. Fertel Jazz Lab at his music school.
Congratulations to the winners.

Saturday night was quite a fun night for me. I started it by going to historic Gallier Hall when You Night Empowering Events Presents A Masterpiece Soiree, ”La Vie en Rose”
YOU NIGHT HELPS WOMEN EMBRACE LIFE BEYOND CANCER.
You Night is an alternative to traditional support groups.  We offer various programs that teach cancer survivors how to overcome the physical and psychological challenges of cancer treatment through teamwork, coaching, and strong interpersonal support from a network of other survivors.
The program prepares women for life after any type of cancer by re-building self-esteem, and gaining appreciation for their own bodies, and a joy for living – all through structured group experiences.  There are many ways that women who have had cancer can join this powerful sisterhood.

I was in heaven at the   exquisite opening of Erté and the Era of Art Deco at M.S. Rau Antiques in Royal Street . Art Deco has always been my favorite art genre.  I have been collecting Erté and used to sell a lot of Erté's artwork at Bergen Gallery. Every year i was invited to his spectacular birthday soirees in New York City. I first met Erté when he was here at Dyasen Art Gallery & at the opening of Jonathan Restaurant
The exhibit Erté and the Era of Art Deco brings together over 160 of Erté’s original gouaches with period jewelry, furniture, and objects d’art to explore the artist’s incomparable impact on the Art Deco movement.
Members of the Committe of the Improvisation of the New Orleans Jazz Museum Gala] were invited to a fabulous reception at the lovely French Quarter home of committee member Chip Bodeau.  The 6th Annual Improvisations Gala presented by The Herb Alpert Foundation will take place on Saturday, December 2, 2023, 7:00 PM  11:00 PM at New Orleans Jazz Museum, 400 Esplanade Ave. New Orleans.  OMG! I have forgotten how delicious the food from Felipe's Taqueria is until today, when I was invited to the Ribbon- Cutting at the grand opening fiesta for Felipe’s brand-new 2004 Old Metairie location. The freshly crafted margaritas, the tortilla soup and everything else were delicious.  I will return to enjoy their delicious Mexican Cuisine and you need to check it out! Very affordable!
Vins du Sud at the historic BK House and Gardens was informative and delicious.  “Vins du Sud” a flavorful journey featured French varietals from the south of France paired with cuisine by La Madeleine Cafe! The informative session was offered in English & French by Wesley Kohler-Bergene of @vinowholesale ! The event was sponsored in part by Nous Foundation.
Wishing you a fabulous week:
I cannot wait: The “Best Dancing Party in New Orleans” will again bring fun and joy this year! The Azúcar Ball will take place on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
