Good afternoon darlings

Wishing all of you a belated happy, healthy, peaceful Tuesday, August 11-
I am looking forward to returning today, to my beloved New Orleans after spending a very relaxing brief sojourn in beautiful and historical Fort Morgan, Alabama.

Rather than focusing on all the negative stuff happening at the time, I figured it would be better to focus on the things that were great about life instead. If we make it a deliberate conscious intention, where we are, no matter how we feel, no matter what is going on in our lives.

We are on a journey to find value in our lives. We can also find meaning and importance by adding value to other people's lives.

Darlings, I just returned from enjoying a very relaxing long weekend with my darling friends, Laurie Scott and Becky Barber at the historical Fort Morgan's beaches.
We were blessed with extraordinary sunny, summer weather to enjoy the camaraderie of three female friends.
We enjoyed visiting Foley, Gulf Shores Alabama, Orange Beach, and the famous Florabama. I also enjoy taking the Ferry from Fort Morgan to Dauphin Island.
I feel grateful and blessed to be alive and healthy to enjoy our holidays at the beach.

While driving back to our beloved New Orleans, we were checking out the Coolinary Menus , and our first stop was at Criollo Restaurant on the legendary Monteleone Hotel. It was delicious and very economical. Check it out.

Darlings, I just want to remind everybody that the Round Table Luncheon scheduled for September 2, has been postponed to Wednesday, September 30 at noon at Galatoire's

Credits will be given to the  paid guests for the Round Table luncheon on September 30,2020.

Coolinary restaurant specials return this year

A yearly campaign that aims to boost New Orleans restaurants during their slowest months is returning this year with some changes.
Coolinary runs from Aug. 3 through Sept. 15. As in previous years, it offers special two- and three-course lunch menus for $20 or less and three-course dinner and brunch menus for $39 or less at a variety of restaurants across the city.
This year the campaign has opened participation to include delivery and take-out options, as well as counter service restaurants. Many restaurants have pivoted to these services as the COVID-19 pandemic lengthens.
“Our beloved restaurant community has been severely impacted by the pandemic crisis that began during their busiest season and the Coolinary campaign is a wonderful opportunity for us all to contribute to their success.” said Stephen Perry, president and CEO of New Orleans & Company. “The addition of take-out and delivery to the program will help our residents support these establishments in whatever way they feel most comfortable. We hope this is a time where we can rediscover New Orleans’ authentic spirit and fall in love with our hometown again.”

Live discussion of the women's suffrage movement with the curators of "Yet She Is Advancing"
Tuesday, August 18 | 7 p.m.
Register now through Zoom.

On August 18, the US will commemorate the 100-year anniversary of the 19th Amendment. On that day, THNOC's Madeline Drace and Libby Neidenbach will lead a live Zoom discussion on the legacy of the women's suffrage movement, based on the new exhibition "Yet She Is Advancing": New Orleans Women and the Right to Vote, 1878-1970.

Together the exhibition's curators will explore the tension between progress and tradition, equality and prejudice in Louisiana. These conflicting forces were perhaps most keenly felt in New Orleans, where wealthy white women organized to win the vote for themselves but ignored, or intentionally neglected, the suffrage of women of African descent. Black women in New Orleans would continue to fight for access to the ballot for the next 45 years.

Register now for the free program, which will begin at 7 p.m. (CDT) on THNOC's Zoom channel. Audience members will have the opportunity to ask their questions and participate in this discussion that was 100 years in the making.
