A Toast to New Orleans January 14- 21: Cherchez la Femme Book Launch/Big Wig Ball/ Bal Masque/ Krewe of Stars Show Ball

Darlings,
OMG - What a game!

Congratulations to LSU winner of the National Championship

I also want to wish to Governor John Bel Edwards, Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser and all of our elected legislators a happy, peaceful and productive term.https://www.theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/news/politics/legislature/article_a5a33cb4-361c-11ea-845a-7bf2c5bfe71c.html

Darlings, it is now – officially – Carnival Time in my beloved New Orleans! The first Carnival Season of the 2020s kicked off on Twelfth Night – January 6 – which is also celebrated in New Orleans as the birthday of St. Joan of Arc. We celebrated that occasion with the annual Krewe of Jeanne d'Arc Parade in which I was honored as Royalty - Queen Yolande de Aragon.

Ever since my participation as Queen Yolande, I have been taking it easy and spending quality time at home. I needed a break from all the activity that began with the 2019 Holiday Season and continued through New Year’s Eve and beyond.

Please check out this link:

Among the few events that I did not miss attending were the following: WYES Screening of Masterpiece "Sanditon." There was a reception with Champagne, sweet and savory bites.

The Historic New Orleans Collection hosted a free viewing party with the College Football Playoff National Championship Trophy on Friday, January 10 as part of its current exhibition "Crescent City Sport: Stories of Courage and Change." Fans from both teams and curious onlookers were invited see and take photos with the official prize before it was awarded to the winning team after the Monday night College Football Championship Game at the Louisiana Superdome.

I love this photo taken by Ellis Anderson, publisher of the French Quarter Journal of my longtime friend, Daniel Hammer, President and CEO of THNOC and yours truly with “The Trophy.”

One of the fun soirees that I enjoy attending was a Drag Show Luncheon at The Tasting Room in Magazine Street.
