Darlings,

Wishing all of you and safe, healthy and fabulous 2019 Carnival.

I have been taking it easy and enjoying bonding with my new puppy, Lolita, who is a really sweet and loving companion. I feel blessed.

Last week, I had several opportunities to introduce Lolita  to my friends and for her to make her society debut.

Mother Nature blessed the Krewe de Jeanne d'Arc and its revelers with the most glorious night to parade in the French Quarter. I love the medieval-style parade that has grown through the years and has become one of my favorite parades. I thought this year was the best and with a new route since it has gotten to be so big.

This year monarchs were my darling friends, as Queen Yolanda, Liz Williams, founder of the Southern Food and Beverage Museum, and as 2019 King Charles VII, Alexandre Vialou, Senior Business Analyst for the New Orleans Redevelopment Authority. Alyssa Fortier was the outstanding Maid Joan who embodied the spirit of the parade.

The monarchs were toasted at the balcony of the Williams Research Center by the Hon. Vincent Sciama, Consul General of France, andDaniel Hammer, Vice President/Deputy Director of The Historic New Orleans Collection.

A Masked Ball on the Twelfth Night 2019

My first masked ball of the 2019 Carnival season was on the Twelfth Night at a lovely mansion on Esplanade Avenue. It was hosted by my darling longtime friends, Alvin Albe Jr. and Virginia Boulet.

The setting, the band, the food, libations and the delicious assortment of King Cakes made it to be indeed a great and memorable night to start the 2019 Carnival Season!

Before I share all the fun events coming up, I want to make sure that you put in your calendars that the first Round Table Luncheon of the year will be on Friday, January 18 at noon in the ballroom of the Bourbon Orleans Hotel. It will salute the 2019 Carnival Season.

Featured as special guest speakers are Arthur Hardy, Mardi Gras historian and publisher of the annual Mardi Gras Guide, and artist Andrea Mistretta, who will unveil her Mardi Gras 2019 poster and original painting, framed on easel and titled “Enchantress: New Orleans."

In addition, Wayne Phillips, Curator of the Louisiana State Museum; Carl Mack, Co-captain of the Krewe of Stars; and the krewe’s 2019 Royalty, Chris Owens and Mark Davison, have also been invited. Live entertainers will be by talented, beloved Becky Allen, Marshall Harris, Carl Mack and pianist Jim Walpole.

The $65, all-inclusive price includes a delicious, 3-course gourmet luncheon, champagne/wines and valet parking. Make your reservations now by calling Judy LeBlanc at (504) 571-4672 or email her at Judy.LeBlanc@BourbonOrleans.com.
