Good Afternoon my darling friends. Today, Monday, January 11, I woke up with confidence and optimism that there's a light at the end of the tunnel and happier times are ahead. I am celebrating being alive, healthy, blessed and the fabulous win of our beloved Saints against the Bears. I am also looking forward to getting today my first vaccine at Crescent Health. Life is good. Let's pray for those with the coronavirus and those that have passed away.  Let'swelcomethe new week with a smile. Wear your mask and keep your distance. Sending a warm visual hug.

So, excited I got my first vaccine shot and have an appointment for Feb 8 for my second one. I feel blessed

The highlight of this past week was the honor of reigning as the 2021 Queen Yolande de Aragon of the Krewe de Jeanne d' Arc.

Traditionally, the Joan of Arc parade welcomes Carnival in the French Quarter, while celebrating the beloved saint’s birthday on Jan. 6.

This year, instead of its usual French Quarter walking procession, canceled due to COVID-19, the Krewe de Jeanne d’Arc  produced a beautiful, creative “ Tableaux de Jeanne d’Arc, “ (A tableau vivant ) a live performance,iadrive-by parade at Behrman Memorial Park in Algiers from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Jan. 6.

Darlings, I am enjoying so much watching Ken Burns's Jazz on WYES
Filmmaker Ken Burnstells the story of jazz — the quintessential American art form. The 10-part series follows the growth and development of jazz music from the gritty streets of New Orleans to the Lincoln Gardens on Chicago's south side, where Louis Armstrong first won fame, from Prohibition-era speakeasies to the wide-open clubs of Kansas City, from the elegant Roseland Ballroom in Times Square, where only whites were allowed to dance, to the more egalitarian Savoy Ballroom in Harlem, where people of all colors mingled.

I was saddened to learn of the loss of dynamicJim Bob Moffett. I have memories of being in his lovely mansion on St. Charles Avenue.  He will be missed by all of those that knew and loved him. My condolence to his son and his family. May his soul RIP.
