Darlings,
I am praying for our safety from "Gordon" as it passes by!🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

I am very happy to say "Goodbye August and Welcome September."

I hope you had a wonderful Labor Day and Southern Decadence Weekend. Every year I look forward to seeing the colorful Southern Decadence Parade and this year was no exception.

2018 Southern Decadence Parade
Threatening rain did not stop thousands of revelers, as well as Chiquita Bergen and I, from enjoying watching the annual colorful Southern Decadence Parade through the French Quarter. The theme for 2018 was "House of Bourbon - Unleash Your Beast", and the official colors were Royal Blue and Canary Yellow.

The Sunday afternoon parade was the traditional Southern Decadence Grand Marshal Parade. The Marshals for 2018 were XLIV Frank Perez and Adikus Sulpizi.https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10155470792055870&type=1&l=f715ba42f4

Prior to the Parade, I enjoyed so much going to Broussard's:

2018 Queen of Drag Brunch

OMG! - What a fun way to start 2018 Southern Decadence Weekend but to attend the awesome Queen Drag Luncheon at Broussard's. The food was delicious and the bottomless sparkling wine along with my darling friends made it to be a very memorable afternoon. Thank you my darling longtime friend, pianist Jim Walpole for treating Michael Langford and I to such decadent luncheon. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10155467619525870&type=1&l=3d6cf53bc2

I actually started last week by attending:

Spanish Dinner of the Todd Price Taste Club

The Spanish Dinner hosted by TODD PRICE TASTE CLUB, with Susan SpicerJames Beard Award-winning chef at Bayona, was just like I expected it to be: delicious and a lot of fun. I loved the flamenco dancers, as well as seeing all the longtime friends and meeting new ones. I am still salivating over the incredible creative menu that made Chef Susan Spicer what she is a Winner. Aplausos! https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10155461409435870&type=1&l=2e58123507

Darlings, if you love New Orleans like I do, you cannot miss the ‘LOVE’-LY EXHIBITION CELEBRATING NEW ORLEANS TRICENTENNIAL, OPENING AUG. 31 at THE CABILDO. I attended the free preview of the exhibition which was open to the public and will continue through December 2019.

As part of New Orleans’ Tricentennial activities, the Cabildo is opening a brand new exhibit, “We Love You, New Orleans.”

Celebrating the people, places and things that make New Orleans one of the nation’s most unique cities to visitors and residents alike, the exhibition plays as a love letter to the city from the Louisiana State Museum. I was delighted to see that my darling friend, talented artist Andrea Mistretta, original artwork for the 2018 Mardi Gras poster was included in the exhibition. She came in from New Jersey for the exhibition. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10155464640945870&type=1&l=d2cab22dae
