A Toast to New Orleans: Jersey Boy/ Holiday Round Table Luncheon/Nutcrackers & more‏...

At Tales of the Toddy!
What a glorious weather we experienced as we headed to Houma House Plantation and Gardens for the Baton Rouge Symphony concert!

Darlings,
I hope you are enjoying all these different weather changes. We went from 38 degrees to 78 degrees in a matter of few days. Even 80 in some places nearby! What a difference!!
Fortunately, I have been enjoying the glorious days that Mother Nature provided us and I’m very grateful that when I needed to be at an outdoor fun event, the weather was favorable.
On Sunday, it was just magical to be listening to the Baton Rouge Symphony conducting a Holiday Brass Outdoor Concert at Houmas House Plantation and Gardens. My thanks, once again, to my darling friend, Kevin Kelly, for his gracious hospitality.
I actually started my social week by attending the annual Champagne Tasting "The Bold and Bubbly" by Republic Beverages at Calcasieu. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10153895910795870.1073742752.581200869&type=1&l=5107f013e3
The next fun affair was the Art Council's Luna Fête outdoor lighting display. It was spectacular! https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10153896048320870.1073742753.581200869&type=1&l=1cedcef69c
The next fun affair that I attended was the BRAVO Holiday Special. Darlings, as in the past, The BRAVO Holiday Social Luncheon was a festive and exciting holiday celebration at the exquisite home ofHeidi and James Dugan. I have visited this fabulous mansion many times since it was the home of Interior Designer and Antique Dealer Buzz Harper and later of actor Nicholas Cage. BRAVO is short for The Ballet Resource and Volunteer Organization, the major fundraising arm of the New Orleans Ballet Association, and it does a wonderful job for our local dance company.https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10153898396515870.1073742754.581200869&type=1&l=bf33df3ebe
I always look forward to attending the annual Tales of the Cocktail's Tales of the Toddy. Of course, I was not disappointed. It was a fabulous, decadent and delicious Tales of the Toddy! It was fabulous, celebrating “the most wonderful time of the year” with the most spirited holiday party of the season at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans Celestin Ballroom.
Tales of the Toddy returned for its 11th year this month as the best bartenders in New Orleans shake up the idea of yuletide cocktails with nogs, toddies and other drinks that are guaranteed to put you in the holiday spirit. The city's newest and most legendary restaurants were also there with the freshest flavors of the season as a live band played holiday hits that kept the party rockin' around the holiday tree all night long.
This year they brought back the spirited "Holiday Duos" competition where bartenders are paired up to compete to be crowned Tales of the Toddy champions. Restaurants also got into the competitive spirit with attendees voting on their favorite dishes. It was all part of Tales of the Toddy 2016. All entertainment provided by Carl Mack Presents! and a portion of the evening's proceeds underwrites educational programming for the United States Bartenders Guild. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10153898396515870.1073742754.581200869&type=1&l=bf33df3ebe.
On Friday night, I was invited to attend the Annual "Sociedad Espanola's Holiday Banquet."  The annual Sociedad Espanola's Fiesta Navidena at the Metairie Country Club was lovely and so much fun. The Consul General of Houston, Enric Panés Calpe and his lovely wife, as well as the Hon. Consul Luis Banos also attended the fiesta. Julio and Cesar and their band added to the festive fiesta and kept everyone dancing the night away. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10153904704990870.1073742757.581200869&type=1&l=4b8821244a
On Saturday, I was invited to Juneau's Holiday Party and Glass Show 2016 hosted by Stewart and Juli Juneau. Glamour and Glass were the scenes at the Juneau Residence in the Penthouse on top of the Ritz Carlton Hotel. Juli is indeed a very talented glass artist and her works are very collectible. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10153908446785870.1073742758.581200869&type=1&l=de73bbfd23
I also attended a lovely festive holiday soiree hosted by Virginia Boulet and Alvin Albe at his residence on Esplanade Avenue in the French Quarter.
