A Toast to NO- June 30- July 6: Essence and July 4th Celebrations and more

Darlings,

Last week was an exciting and historical one.

I had many opportunities to toast my city and my gay friends. I am so elated about the Same-Sex Marriage Law that was upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court. Congratulations to all my gay friends and a Champagne Toast to all of you! It was about time.

One of those events that I attended was Project Lazarus' 30th Anniversary at the beautiful Lakefront Airport and it was just lovely. I just loved seeing so many old-time friends. This year Project Lazarus proudly celebrates 30 years of serving people living with HIV/AIDS who have nowhere else to go. At this event it honored the Archdiocese of New Orleans for their efforts in opening doors and sustaining Project Lazarus' work.https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10152806528680870.1073742483.581200869&type=1&l=5c7db42f61

Last week, I also attended a lovely fundraising soiree for Councilmember Stacy Head. and the second floor of the historical Napoleon House was the setting. I saw many familiar faces and longtime friends. In case you did not know, Napoleon House recently sold to Ralph Brennan, who named seasoned chef Chris Montero, the chef at Ralph Brennan's Cafe B in Metairie, to take the helm at Napoleon House.https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10152801627410870.1073742482.581200869&type=1&l=f28afdfc98

I must confess that this week, I spent a lot of time at Casell-Bergen gallery getting it ready for our 4th of July Summer Clearance and was too tired to attend too many events. But this week is going to be different. Tomorrow I am looking forward to the monthlyNew Orleans Magazine Hobnobber at the Shops at Canal Place from 5:30-7:30. We will Sip, Swing and Shop as revisit Hollywood Glamorous Golden Era.  The fabulous Yat Pack will be entertaining (see calendar  below).
