A reminder that this Friday, October 23 will be my first ever Northshore Halloween Round Table Luncheon at the lovely Pontchartrain Yacht Club in Mandeville. The doors will open at 11 a.m.,. for networking while eating delicious appetizers and drinking bubbly! You need to be masked and exercise social distances. I have set up some outdoor tables for those that will feel more comfortable outdoors.
Unlike the Halloween Round Table Luncheon on Oct 28 at Galatoire’s that does not allow Live Music, my first Northshore RTL will feature talented Kate Fagan and the Haunting” Band Members- Kate Fagan - vocals, Rose Cangelosi - drums
Sam Albright - bass and Jeremy Joyce - guitar
Among the featured speakers will be Chris Madden, Mayor of the City of Mandeville;MARK BAHAM, Executive Director of STARC of Louisiana; Mathew Montero, Artist, and Founder at The ICONS Museum. and the talented Hautes Dames and their collection of bewitching hats
This is the Menu: Spinach Salad with pepper jelly vinaigrette
Pan seared fish / Rice Pilaf / Assorted grilled vegetables and · Self-Serve Assorted desserts and coffee station. If you prefer anything else please let know ASAP

SATURDAY: City to Host Annual Household

Hazardous Materials Collection Day

NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans, Department of Sanitation will host a Household Hazardous Materials Collection Day on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Recycling Drop-Off Center (2829 Elysian Fields Ave.). Proof of Orleans Parish residency will be required in the form of a valid driver’s license or a motor vehicle inspection sticker. 


Household hazardous items that will be accepted only on Saturday include: garden chemicals, pesticides, household cleaners, drain cleaners, bleach, paint (latex and oil based), paint thinner, varnish, grout, flammable liquids, muriatic acid, small mercury devices, aerosols, pool shock, antifreeze, microwave ovens (limit four), motor oil and gasoline. Household hazardous items should never be placed in garbage or curbside recycling containers.


The following items will not be accepted: tanks, fire extinguishers, explosives, radioactive materials, medicines, medical waste, radioactive materials, asbestos or hazardous waste from businesses or schools.

 

Items accepted at twice monthly (second and fourth Saturday) Recycling Drop-Off Events include:

  • Paper: newspapers, magazines, catalogs, office paper, junk mail, phone books
  • Plastics: #1 (soda/water bottles) and #2 (milk/juice/shampoo/detergent containers),
  • Small metals: (aluminum and steel)
  • Cardboard, boxboard (cereal/soft drink boxes)
  • E-waste: iPads, tablets, computers, laptops, telephones/telephone systems, cell phones, bag phones, televisions (limit four), keyboards, speakers, telephone/computer cables, X-boxes, PlayStations, Wii, MP3/DVD/CD players, UPS, circuit boards, portable navigation/GPS devices, inkjet/toner cartridges, digital cameras/video recorders (DVRs), gaming consoles, DVD movies and video games, fax

Thanks to my darling friend Laura Scott, i was able to return to the historic city of Natchez. It was celebrating its colourful Ballom Festival

I am sending these wishes from the historic City of Natchez where I am spending this weekend at the Natchez Balloon Festival.
While there, we enjoyed a delicious dinner at 1818 Restaurant of the historical Monmouth Plantation where I got to meetDan M. Gibson, the Mayor of Natchez.He happens to be a talented pianist and was playing the beautiful piano at the Plantation.
