A Toast to New Orleans Nov. 12-18 : Literary Round Table Luncheon/ “Odyssey 2019: Mystère Louisiane”/“Fête des Fromages” & more

Darlings,

I hope you all enjoyed, like I did, the Veterans’ Day weekend.  I really enjoyed the beautiful warm temperature that Mother Nature blessed us on Monday. Unfortunately, it is not going to last.

The @CityOfNOLA will activate the freeze plan starting 8 am Tuesday through 11 am Wednesday to provide shelter for the homeless. Call 504-821-2222 to report someone in need of shelter.

The coldest temperatures yet this season are expected Tuesday and Wednesday, with “feels like” temps as low as the mid-20s. Plan ahead to keep people, pets and plants safe. ready.nola.gov

This weekend was a very memorable one for football fans: good and bad.

Congratulations to LSU for their super victory against Alabama. Unfortunately, our beloved Saints experienced a shocking defeat against our archrivals, the Atlanta Falcons. Hopefully, we learned from our mistakes and will win the next game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, November 17 at Tampa. Geaux Saints!

This past week was a very hectic one for me since I was invited to more social soirees than I could possible attend but enjoyed attending the following:

Bianca USED TO DO ALL MY MAKEUP AND MY FABULOUS COSTUMES!
darling Roy.
Bianca del Rio's It's Jester Joke Tour

Bianca was fuc.......... funny. I think I got my dosage of hearing the “F” word for the decade. I loved the completely sold-out performance. Congratulations my darling Roy!

The historic  courtyard of the former orphanage of Mother Francesca Cabrini at 817 St. Philip in the French Quarter was the site of the Fais Do Do of the French Quarter Advocates. Patrons enjoyed a lovely evening that featured acclaimed Zydeco band: Bruce "Sunpie" Barnes & the Louisiana Sunspots, as well as delicious Cajun music and an open bar.

The French Quarter Advocates, is a Neighborhood Organization coming together with residents, business owners, and with anyone who wants to contribute to the welfare of the French Quarter!

Funds raised at the soiree, will be used to support the French Quarter Task Force. They are practically the only source of safety in the French Quarter neighborhood, and without them it would be lawless.

Album The National WWII Museum's 2019 Victory Ball (29 photos and 2 videos)

I joined The National WWII Museum on Friday, November 8, for a salute to the men and women who dedicate their lives to our freedom. As in the past, The National WWII Museum's 2019 Victory Ball was a very memorable one

The annual ball was a lavish reception featuring cocktails and culinary creations by The American Sector Restaurant & Bar, live music, entertainment and dancing, as well as unlimited access to the museum’s amazing pavilions and exhibit galleries throughout the evening. Culinary Creations  were by The American Sector Restaurant & Bar

2019 Boudin, Beer and Bourbon

What a fun and delicious soiree. I loved seeing all the beloved chefs and tasting their delicious boudin dishes. On Friday, November 8, the fabulous Emeril Lagasse Foundation's Boudin, Bourbon & Beer took place at Champions Square.

Last year, almost 5,000 people attended the South’s biggest boudin bash to savor creative dishes from more than 70 of the country’s best chefs. In addition to top culinary talent, the event featured bars stocked with a variety of local craft beers from Abita Beer and bourbon cocktails from Buffalo Trace.

As in the past, I loved seeing my darling longtime Patrick van Hoorebeek serving delicious Mum Champagne in his red outfit. The bars also featured premium spirits, fine wines and more provided by sponsors Au Bon Climat, JUSTIN Vineyards & Winery, Landmark Vineyards and FIJI Water. Guests also enjoyed a cigar-tasting tent hosted by sponsor Nat Sherman, as well as a silent auction curated by featured chefs.

at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.located at 601 Loyola Avenue, in downtown New Orleans.
