A Toast to New Orleans July 3-8 : 4th of July Celebrations/ Essence Festival and more

: A Toast to New Orleans July 3-8 : 4th of July Celebrations/ Essence Festival and more

Darlings,

I am wishing you all a very Happy 4th of July 2018!

I just returned from having a very brief, spirited and fun weekend in Sandestin, Florida. I am afraid that i need a vacation after my fun-filled holiday!
Here are some of the highlights of my visit:

Night Life of Sandestin and Miramar Beach
Darlings, discovering the night life of Sandestin and Miramar Beach with the help of my talented hostesses, Insurance Agent Vicky Kerlagon and Realtor Teri McCall was so much fun, and then, to top it off, at Graffiti, running into my darling New Orleans friend, RK Hoddinott, who spends the summer at his home in Sandestin, was a hoot.

The full moon added the perfect touch to make the evening to be a very memorable one. I know I was there to rest but I just loved tagging along with my lively, fun-loving friends.https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10155332331165870.1073743213.581200869&type=1&l=64a931cb15

Discovering scenic Hwy 30A, Florida

It feels so good to be back in my beloved New Orleans after a very brief but spirited and fun sojourn to my favorite nearby holiday getaway destination, the Emerald Coast. I really enjoyed touring Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort with Vicky and Teri. They introduced me to a lot of their friends and showed me all the different communities along Sandestin and the Scenic Highway 30-A, a beach road in South Walton that stretches along the Emerald Coast, famous for its azure waters and white sand beaches.

I enjoyed discovering, along Highway 30-A, picturesque Rosemary Beach, Santa Rosa Beach, Alys Beach, Seaside, and an exquisite, under- development, Kaiya Beach Resort. While there I loved meeting Lisa Burwell, the publisher of the beautiful VIE, a national luxury lifestyle magazine that fuses fashion, travel, philanthropy, health and art. VIE has inspired readers with elegance and grace since 2008.

I think Sandestin will be seeing a lot more of me since I love getting away from the New Orleans scorching heat. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10155334870125870.1073743214.581200869&type=1&l=44d63e4f68

RTA's GoMobile Conference & Ride
Before I left I attended a very important RTA press conference where it was announced that starting July 1, 2018, the RTA has a GoMobile App. Mayor LaToya Cantrell joined members of the New Orleans City Council, members of the RTA board of directors and the media for a short drive. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10155321345705870.1073743212.581200869&type=1&l=2b6739987a

4th of July in New Orleans

New Orleans Summers are hot – and there is no hotter place to be for the Fourth of July than in the Crescent City.

The biggest celebration happens on the banks of the Mississippi with the annual Go Fourth on the River extravaganza. “Dueling Barges” is an exciting fireworks show to the tune of patriotic music – it’s a world renowned, one-of-a-kind spectacle! Spend the day exploring the French Quarter before settling down for the show, which usually starts around 9 pm. There are a lot of different locations to catch the excitement along the river, so no matter where you watch, you’ll be front and center for the action.
From fireworks to festivals and more, New Orleans knows how to celebrate. Enter Fourth of July and the weekend that follows, and there's plenty to see and do in NOLA.
