A Toast to New Orleans: Lighting of Balconies/ Umoja and lot more.....‏

Darlings, I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving surrounded by your loved ones.

I celebrated at home with my brother Lorenzo and about 12 close friends. We really had a harvest feast that was enjoyed by all, including our beloved canines and their guests.

I have been waiting for a long time to be able to say - Congratulations to our beloved Saints for bringing a victory home. Keep it going. Who knows, we may be in the playoffs!

I started my social week at the lovely media party for the opening of the exquisitely renovated Brennan’s Restaurant. Since it the only pink building on Royal Street I donned pink in their honor and had plenty of champagne and delicious milk punch and hors d’oeuvres to celebrate its opening. (I hope you will enjoy the link) https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10152360950925870.1073742369.581200869&type=1&l=f52330be59

That night it was time to attend the lighting of the Canal Street Lights from the Astor Hotel. The tree is beautiful and, as always, the party was superb. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10152362261120870.1073742370.581200869&type=1&l=a8e2eff4ba
The next stop was the festively decorated Degas House, where I saw a lot of friends.
The rest of the week, I spent working at Casell-Bergen Gallery and resting up so I could enjoy the social busy month of December.

Last night, December 1, I was invited to the lighting of the exquisite Christmas Tree at the Windsor Court. It was really lovely seeing all the children of the Berger and Tillman light up the Christmas Tree (I hope you will enjoy the link).https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10152372230250870.1073742371.581200869&type=1&l=864ab90966

Darlings, there is no place like home for the holidays and the month of December is the perfect time to be home. Thanks to “Christmas New Orleans Style,” just what the name implies: a Holiday Season served up with the unique New Orleans flair that makes our city so special.  With 79 different seasonal events this December (including 37 free ones), it's easier than ever to follow your joy and find holiday cheer in New Orleans. See more at:

The annual Free Christmas New Orleans Style Concert Series started last night and the 2014 series includes 14 early evening shows between Dec. 1 and Dec. 21.All concerts at St. Louis Cathedral begin at 6 p.m., excluding the final show, which takes place Dec. 21, 5:30 p.m. The shows run approximately one hour (see calendar below for the schedule).

The Reveillon Dinners started last night as well. For Reveillon (REH-vee-on), a Creole tradition from the mid-1800s, dozens of New Orleans' finest restaurants serve up decadent four-course holiday feasts with all the trimmings. Nightly from December 1-31.
The Reveillon dinner has been celebrated in homes and restaurants all over New Orleans since the 1850s. This year, local bartenders were asked to create both classic and original cocktails to celebrate the Reveillon one-sip-at-a-time. Beginning December 1 and continuing until the last toast on New Year's Eve, and at some spots lasting through Twelfth Night (January 6), you are invited to visit the following establishments and say "Cheers to the Holiday Season" with a variety of spirited libations. - See more at: https://holiday.neworleansonline.com/cocktails/#sthash.830TtCOD.dpuf
Another fabulous show that already started is the LUNA Fête-November 29-December 6, 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at Lafayette Square.

On December 2 is the Art of Giving at Ogden Museum of Southern Art. The annual Art of Giving event is a holiday arts market ideal for finding a unique and original gift from 6-8 p.m.

Opening December 2 until December 21, NOMA's iconic Great Hall will be transformed into the strange country of Illyria where two shipwrecked twins must find their way back to one another. This classic Shakespeare comedy, “The Twelfth Night,” will become an immersive feast for the senses as action takes place in front of, above, behind, and all around the audience seated in the striking and impressive marble architecture. Tonight, I am looking forward to attending the Holiday Display at the The Roosevelt New Orleans. A Waldorf Astoria Hotel, it will shine with the sights and sounds of the 2014 holiday season, as it has for generations, when it opens its spectacular New Orleans holiday wonderland lobby and decorations beginning Dec. 2 along with other attractions for children and adults.

The holiday delight, an attraction for everyone who visits New Orleans and the hotel during the season, has been a tradition since the 1930s.The displays are free and open to the public through New Year's Day.

On December 3, the Art Council of New Orleans is presenting its annual Community Arts Awards. The seven honorees for this year's Community Art Awards are: Arthur Roger, A Studio in the Woods, Hogan Jazz Archive at Tulane, Howard Miller, Jeanne Nathan, Young Men Olympian Junior Benevolent Association, and The Zion Harmonizers. “Where the River Bends” is a photographic project that explores life along both sides of the U.S.–Mexico border where it divides Ciudad Juárez, México, and El Paso, Texas. Happy Holidays everyone!!!! Wow! is it really December already? Well ~ tomorrow is and 'Tis the Season to see Suzaune! So it’s time to get into the holiday spirit ~ or is it time to get the holiday spirit in YOU? I know the next few weeks are going to be hectic for you ~ first you have to make sure you are free early Friday evening, so you can drop into Après Lounge between 6:00 & 9:00 p.m. to see Suzaune kick off the season with some holiday songs. Then ~ for all you Round Tablers, it’s almost time for Margarita’s Christmas Round Table at the Royal Sonesta (Dec 17th) and you know what that means don’t you? For those of you that don’t, it has become a tradition that Suzaune does a Seasonal Show with includes a couple of songs that everyone expects. The first is the 12 Days of Christmas, where everyone is involved, so when you are making a reservation for the luncheon, let them know if you want to be a certain “Day” (of Christmas) and they will help you if they can. Even better if you can reserve a complete table. Don’t wait too long this year because it may be overbooked this year. Then there’s the other song ~ but you will have to wait to see who the Elves will be this year. LOL BUT ~ please remember, Suzaune does the Round Table show because she loves doing it, not for pay; she gets paid to do the show at Après Lounge ~ BUT only is you support her there.
