A Toast to New Orleans and YOU. December 19-26 : Gallier Hall 's Deck the Hall/ Kate Fagan 's Ho Ho Show / Happy Hanukkah/ Feliz Navidad

Good afternoon, my darling family, and friends. Let's welcome Monday, December 19 with gratitude for being alive, healthy, and able to enjoy the past exciting week that brought us a sold-out Round Table Luncheon, a lit-up Luna Fete, the stunning victory of Argentina at the World Cup and  the Saints vs The Falcon and later the traditional Christmas Caroling at Jackson Square  presented by the Patio Planters of the Vieux Carre.
“Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So, love the ones who treat you right and forget about the ones that don’t. Have a lovely day😘 and a blessed week! May God grant you many moments of happiness.
Happy Hanukkah to all my Jewish friends. May this festival bring blessings upon you and your family.

This past week was a whirl of Holiday soirees enjoyed by all.
Of course, I do not have to tell you that the highlight of my week was my annual Sold-Out Round Table Luncheon Saluting the Holidays at Briquette's. The entertainment started by talented guitarists Julio and Cesar Herrera got everyone dancing to Feliz Navidad and other beloved Latin tunes. It was followed by Claudia Baumgarten who in keeping with the spirit of the season, performed Tom Lehrer’s classic and hilarious Hanukkah in Santa Monica accompanied in the piano by Maestro Paul Mauffray.
Choreographer, actor & creator of Flashmob New Orleans Kynt Kenneth Bryan was exquisite and of course,  talented entertainer Marshall Harris got everyone dancing, along with Carl Mack and Suzaune Yee Mckamey performing  the Twelve Days of Christmas, accompanied in the piano by talented Maestro Paul Mauffray.
OMG what fun. I feel blessed by having so many friends that made my annual Round Table Luncheon a very festive, entertaining and memorable one😻🙏🍾.  Co-captains Carl Mack and Marshall Harris Introduced 4 of the 5 Queens of 2023 Krewe of Stars : Geri Valene, Yours Truly, Anita Matamoras and Triness Kuhn. The Ball will take place on Friday, January 13 at Chateu Estate Country Club in Kenner

We sure got Lit Up for the fun-loving Art Council of New Orleans's inaugural 2022 Luna Art Ball at the Convention Center.
LUNA Fête 2022 isn't just a festival. It's a story that brings us through the history and transformation of handmade and digital artworks by local and international artists and ends by reminding us of the bright future we have ahead. You'll enjoy interactive art installations, projections, and performances; discover unique, one-of-a-kind artworks at the arts market; and dance the night away at the silent disco. International award-winning Thai artists Decide Kit will premiere the signature main projection, “The Sewing of Soul.” The projection narrative is told through the perspective of the Black Masking Indian Queens. Symbolic chapters celebrate their history, the creation process of their Indian suits, their transformation into their respective Orishas, and a parade through the streets where they encounter other costumed revelers and krewes.
The lighted up Luna Fete2022 Ball was so much fun as we got LIT with music, delicious cuisine and libations and great friends.

OMG what a fun afternoon at Patric van Hoorebeek’s festive, holiday soirée at his Patrick's Bar Vin. It was so much fun to see so many longtime friends enjoying the holiday season!

Congratulations
to the 2023 Royalty of the fun- loving Krewe of Jeanne de Arc that was crowned at Degas House. My two longtime friends, talented Joseph Dunn, and Beth Arroyo Utterback, will reign as King Charles VII and Queen Yolande de Aragon. Talented, beautiful Emmeline Meyer will reign as Joan of Arc.  I feel honored to be asked to help crown Beth. The parade will roll on the French Quarter on January 6 and I cannot wait.
The Krewe de Jeanne d’Arc is pleased to announce the 2023 Honorary Characters!

The Krewe de Jeanne d’Arc held a coronation reception and ceremony at the historic Degas House on December 15. The krewe, which will parade for the fifteenth time on January 6, 2023 celebrating St. Joan’s 611th birthday, selects the honorary characters in the parade in recognition of their service to the community and their embodiment of the mission of the krewe and the spirit of Joan of Arc.

King Charles VII will be portrayed by JOSEPH DUNN, director of public relations and marketing at Laura: Louisiana's Creole Heritage Site. Mr. Dunn is also a Chevalier de l'Ordre national du Mérite and a member of the Order of Francophones of America. The krewe honors Joseph Dunn for his ongoing role in celebrating our French heritage and preserving and promoting the development of the language of our ancestors and communities.

Queen Yolande, the mother-in-law of King Charles and supporter of Joan, will be portrayed by BETH ARROYO UTTERBACK, general manager of WWOZ 90.7FM, New Orleans. The krewe honors Beth Arroyo Utterback for her embodiment of the spirit of Queen Yolande by her support of the community and the culture bearers who enrich our lives.
Our royalty have chosen to honor community culture bearers by including them in their parade entourages.

The young Maid of Orleans will be portrayed by EMMELINE L. MEYER, a 17 year old senior at Lycée Français de la Nouvelle-Orléans and the daughter of Andrea and Kenny Meyers.
She won the contest held to select the young woman who best represents the qualities of Joan. Her facility in the language of France, her school leadership at her French immersion school, and her longtime enthusiasm for portraying Joan singled her out this year. Our maid will be accompanied by her pages portrayed by her father and uncle.

The court was presented by krewe founder, Amy Kirk Duvoisin, and Co-Captains Antoinette de Alteriis and Amanda Helm.
