A Toast to New Orleans and YOU -Week of May 8-15 : Marie Antoinette Luncheon/ Brennan's Turtle Parade / Mother Day's Concert at Cabrini Park and more..
Good afternoon, my darling family, and friends. A humid Monday, May 8 awaits us after a successful 2023 NO Jazz Fest.
“This is your Monday morning reminder that you can handle whatever this week throws at you.” “Every morning you have two choices: continue to sleep with your dreams or wake up & chase them.” —Kristin, Sophisticated Gal.
“The secret of getting ahead is getting started.” Let's take advantage of Monday to think about what we need to do to get what we want. Wishing you a blessed week an da Happy Mother's Day.
This past week was an incredible fun-filled week that included Local Thursday at the NO Jazz Fest, The Coronation of King Charles, a Kentucky Derby Soiree and much needed rest to enjoy this upcoming week.
The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Louisiana hosted an informative Sold-Out 2023 Women Symposium at the exquisite Four Seasons Hotel. It was a momentous day of empowerment for women. The event consisted of an engaging agenda, including six panels that focused on different topics and a diverse group of successful business women speakers who instilled knowledge and experience to attendees.
The Spring Membership Meeting of the Women of Fashion at the Longue Vue Gardens was informative and delicious.During the meeting we discussed the upcoming spectacular Danse de Jardin, a benefit for the New Orleans Ballet Association on May 18 at the Gallier Hall. This soiree will be the equivalent of the Metropolitan Gala and we will see creative beautiful outfits with trails in the red carpet on the steps of historic Gallier Hall. Get your ticket now since this is going to be the fundraiser of the year!

Wearing Polka dots in honor of Grammy award Buddy Guy, my roommate Rick Tringali and I attended the Local Thursday. It was a beautiful day to be at the Jazz Fest even if it was for only a few hours. My brother Lorenzo lent me one of his walkers that made it a lot easier for me to get around.

Congratulations to Venezuela-born jockey Javier Castellano for winning the 2023 Kentucky Derby with its horse Mage.
Mage won the 2023 Kentucky Derby, ridden by Javier Castellano and trained by Gustavo Delgado. A late surge held Mage's lead down the stretch over Two Phil's as legendary jockey Castellano captured his first Kentucky Derby victory in his 16th appearance.
I was invited by my longtime friend, beautiful Babs Ryan to her Kentucky Derby Pary in Old Metairie and i enjoyed it tremendously, since I saw so many longtime friends that made it very memorable.

While my darling friend Laurie Scott (RIP) were in London for the Queen Jubilee, we saw Prince Charles and Camilla passing us by in his beautiful wine-colored Rolls Royce. Unfortunately or fortunately, there were too many fun-loving events in my beloved New Orleans for me to be in London to see all the pomp and circumstance at the historic coronation:
