Good afternoon my darling family and friends. A beautiful Monday, April 17 is waking us up after a successful 2023 French Quarter Fest.
"Sun is shining.... a new day is calling.... Open your heart and mind, grab every opportunity that comes by...."
"You want to know what living life to the fullest actually is? It's waking up on a Monday morning with no complaints." —Bernajoy Vaal. Have a fun blessed week. 😘

This past week was a very exciting one in my beloved New orleans. We celebrated the 40th Anniversary of the French Quarter Festival.
Darlings, I feel blessed to have been able to witness the memorable Celebration of Life, Legacy and Second Line Funeral for talented, beloved Kidd Jordan. I expressed my condolences to my longtime friends: musicians Rachel, Stephanie and Marlon Jordan and saw so many mutual friends.

LPO Presents:

A NOLA debut, accompanied by the LOUISIANA PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA!
STATE BALLET OF GEORGIA (from the country of Georgia) debuts in New Orleans!

ACCOMPANIED BY THE LOUISIANA PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA

SAT | APR 22 | 7:30PM

Mahalia Jackson Theater (New Orleans, LA)

Making its New Orleans debut (one of only four cities nationwide), the State Ballet of Georgia concludes NOBA’s star-studded 2022-23 Main Stage Season. The acclaimed national company of the former Soviet republic tours internationally yet is not often seen in the United States. Based in the Opera and Ballet State Theatre in the capital city of Tbilisi, this stunning company of “versatile and accomplished” dancers (The New York Times) has soared under the bold artistic direction of world-renowned dancer Nina Ananiashvili (former prima ballerina with Bolshoi Ballet, The Royal Ballet and American Ballet Theatre) who returned home to her native country in 2004 to lead the company. Accompanied by the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, this rare evening features two of Georgian-American choreographer George Balanchine’s greatest masterpieces, Serenade and Concerto Barocco. Using traditional Georgian music, the rousing finale is a work created for the company by Yuri Possokhov, the Ukraine-born dancer and international choreographer. “The sheer polish of the men is striking” (The New York Times).

I enjoyed seeing this segment on Today NBC, because when I traveled in one of my trips aboard the Silver Sea, I joined my fellow travelers at a lovely dinner at the Royal Brittania Yacht in Scotland’s Port of Leeth.  I was surprised to see the bedroom of the queen and how modest it was. When I expressed that I had been to some of my New Orleans friends' bedrooms and they had crown above their beds, I was told that this was the first venue that the Queen had the experience of decorating since everything else was inherited.

Jazz in the Park Returns to Armstrong Park

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Jazz in the Park is coming back on April 27, bigger and better than before.
