A Toast to New Orleans and YOU Week of April 4-11. Need RSVP to Champagne Fiesta Round Table Luncheon on Aprill 22 at Broussard's
Good morning my darling family and friends. A lovely Monday, March 4 awaits us. Let's welcome it with a smile on our face and gratitude in our heart for being alive and healthy.
When you wake up on a Monday morning, you should feel happy, inspired, and motivated to make the best start to the week. There are so many things that you must be grateful for, and it’s important to remember those things on Monday morning as you start a new week. Let this Monday be kind to you: be happy with what you have and accept the things which you cannot change. have a blessed week!
WOW what a way to start my birthday month of April. I feel so blessed to be alive and able to enjoy a myriad of fun-loving events.
I started my social week by attending the annual Women’s Guild of the New Orleans Opera Association ‘s 37th Annual Mad Hatters Luncheon and Fashion Show “ Walk on The Wild Side.”at the Metairie Country Club. I love the theme and as such I dressed to the nine in my wild side outfit. I was the guest of my darling longtime friend Sammy Steele and we loved it.
On Thursday, as a member of the New Orléans Women of Fashion I attended a meeting at the exquisite residence of Drs. Tarun and Rupa Jolly at Audubon Place. We discussed the upcoming Prix d’Elegance Luncheon that will take place on April 26 at the Hilton Hotel . The luncheon will introduced the 2019 Best Dressed Honorees with a fashion Show and a delicious luncheon. I will be walking down my honoree Elliot Anthony Hutchinson. All the proceeds will benefit the New Orléans Ballet Association ‘s Youth Scholarship Fund .
On Friday, I had the opportunity to enjoy not one but two fabulous soirees: CAC's SweetArts Ball, and the New Orleans Opera's La Boheme
I experienced a night of the bohemian lifestyle when the New Orleans Opera stages the grand return of grand opera with its production of "LA BOHÈME" at 7:30 p.m. Friday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts in Louis Armstrong Park. Prior to the show, a lovely pre-opera party was held at the fountain, with the Electric Yat Quartet and more. It was a perfect night to enjoy the outdoor soiree. left
I left at intermission the fabulous performance of La Boheme to attend the Astral Plane at the SWEETARTS 2022 gala fundraiser for the Contemporary Arts Center. The celebration of art, culture, music and fashion, the ball was a "multi-sensory journey that bends time and imagines the future...while honoring artistic leaders in our community," including designer Harold Clarke, filmmaker TG Herrington and actress Lynn Whitfield, with the late philanthropist Elizabeth "Betty" Pharr Moran and artist Mario Villa.
Once again, on Saturday, i wished that I had a clone so i could enjoy to its entirety the Final Four and the New Orleans Film Society Gala honoring my longtime friend Alexa Georges.
I enjoyed tremendously dressed in baby blue, the color of the time that I was cheering North Carolina Tar Heels who were victorious against Duke. I was the guest of my next door neighbor Dr. Chris Westley and were joined by my roommate Rick Tringali and Dr. Hamed
I left before the end of the game and was thrilled that North Carolina, the alma master of my host has won the game. I joined celebrating the 33rd anniversary of the New Orleans Film Society with a night replete with gourmet dishes, craft cocktails, and unforgettable entertainment to support independent cinema in New Orleans.
This year’s New Orleans Film Society Gala honors Alexa Georges, a life-long New Orleanian, philanthropist, and executive producer. Alexa provides foundational support and advisement to key arts & culture organizations in New Orleans, ensuring that our rich cultural traditions thrive decades into the future. It wasso good to see so many friends that included my longtime friend Michelle Miller of CBS who acted as the MC.

The New Orleans Museum of Art's "Queen Nefertari’s Egypt" features a collection of 230 objects that present life in ancient Egypt some 3,000 years ago through the lens of the wife of pharaoh Ramesses II. The exhibition runs through July 17, 2022.
You can taste authentic Egyptian food during NOMA's big show, thanks to these chefs
Throughout the exhibition, the restaurant within the museum, Café NOMA, serves traditional Egyptian dishes on its everyday menu and hosts a variety of special meals, cooking demos, and happy hours focused on Egyptian cuisine. Café NOMA is accessible both through the museum and also independent of museum admission, with a separate entrance. - by Ian McNulty
