A Toast to New Orleans Dec. 31,2019 to January 7,2020 -New Year's Celebration/ Krewe de Jeanne d'Arc Parade & route map
Darlings,
I hope you enjoyed your holidays as much as I did. I want to wish you all of you a Prosperous, healthy, peaceful New Decade in 2020! Feliz y Prospero Ano Nuevo 2020!
I was invited to spend Christmas (Navidad) with my Suarez Family who flew in from Santo Domingo to join my cousins who live and work in Las Vegas, Nevada.

It was indeed a very memorable Christmas Experience!...
Christmas with Suarez Family in Las Vegas
What a priceless, lovely Christmas I had with my Suarez Cousins and their mother, Tatica Suarez, in Las Vegas.
The last time that I was in Las Vegas was 20 years when Richard and Willie Fiske, former owners of the Bombay Club, and I were invited to the opening of the Paris Casino.
I just could not believe how much the Strip has grown, but the minute that I arrived I told my cousins that I was not in Las Vegas to gamble or see shows but to spend quality time with them. That was accomplished when my beloved, beautiful and talented cousin, Angela Suarez, a police officer, hosted the entire family to a delicious dinner at her favorite Italian restaurant, Spaghetty Western.
On Christmas Eve's we were treated to a real Dominican style meal at my cousin Junior's lovely house in Henderson, Nevada. I am still salivating from both dinners. One of the highlights of my trip was meeting the beloved canine son of Angela, Bochito Suarez, a Belgian Malinois fathered by two K-9 police dogs, who was recuperating from a recent operation. It was love at first sight.
I also enjoyed returning to see the dancing lights at Bellagio and the exquisite conservatory and, of course, admiring Dale Chihuly's creation of “Fiori di Como,” the over 2,000 glass sculptures that hangs from the ceiling in Bellagio’s lobby. It was indeed a very memorable Christmas experience!
I returned to New Orleans on December 26 and learned that my darling longtime friend, Carl Ciaccio, had passed away. I adored Carl who I had met when I joined the Alliance for Good Government in 1980. May his soul R.I.P.
Another devasting news what the loss of beloved sportscaster Carley McCord
A member of the WDSU Sports team was killed in a plane crash Saturday, according to family.

The annual, festive Round Table Luncheon Saluting the Holidays was held Wednesday, December 18 at noon at Grand Ballroom of the Jung Hotel. I needed to move it to the Jung in order to accommodate more than 300 guests.
One of the highlights of the luncheon was when the Krewe de Jeanne d' Arc crowned me as the 2020 Queen Yolande de Aragon who I will parade as on January 6 in the French Quarter. TV personality, Norman Robinson, served as emcee. (I will add the rest)
The next Round Table Luncheon will be held on Friday, January 24 at noon in the Bourbon Orleans hotel and will salute the upcoming Carnival Season. The $65, all-inclusive price includes a delicious, 3-course gourmet luncheon, plus champagne/wines and valet parking. Make your reservations now by calling Judy LeBlanc at (504) 571-4672 or email her at Judy.LeBlanc@BourbonOrleans.com.
Upon my return, I was delighted to have been invited by my darling friend, winemaker James Moises, M.D., who kindly provided a bottle of his delicious pinot noir to every table at the Round Table Luncheon Saluting the Holidays.

There is nothing better than spend time with family and, in this case darling friends, at the annual Bijou Wines Holiday Soiree at The Cellar on St. Louis. The decadent and delicious soiree was hosted by winemaker James Moises, M.D., owner of Moises Wines and Bizou Wines.
I saw last year
but it was back by popular demand with a revamp for a new year!
I can not wait to see the next play and I am looking forward to the party on January 6 right after the Krewe de Jeanne d'Arc Parade.

Darlings, In New Orleans, New Year's Eve is that happy occasion between Christmas and Twelfth Night. It’s a time to welcome in the New Year with family and friends. There’s food, and – always – a band, and plenty of festivities to ring in the New Year New Orleans style.
For the biggest party in the city, head to Jackson Square – the Quarter is packed with festive partygoers eager to count down the time until the New Year arrives with the Fleur De Lis drop. Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve streams live from the city as well.
If outdoor celebrations and big crowds are not for you, make a reservation at one of the city’s many fine restaurants and celebrate the evening over delectable meals and of course, lots of bubbly. Many restaurants offer special deals or packages for the evening, so make sure you check ahead to ensure the perfect night for you, your loved ones and friends. Some of our favorite celebratory meals are offered at M Bistro, Galatoire's, Landry's Seafood and Justine.
I am looking forward to spending New Year's Eve aboard the newest Riverboat in town, the Louis Armstrong. .
I would love to be there!
