Darlings,
I hope you all had a safe and joyful Thanksgiving. As in the past, I had a very memorable Thanksgiving at the exquisite Houmas House Plantation and Gardens. Kevin Kelly and Executive Chef Jeremy Langlois prepared the most delicious and succulent buffet that made it a very memorable, all-senses experience.
Of course, the Saints victory over our perennial nemesis, the Atlanta Falcons, was the icing on the cake. Congratulations Saints! They became the first NFL team to clinch a playoff spot in 2019, soundly defeating the Falcons 26-18 to clinch their third consecutive NFC South championship.
I was delighted to see so many of my friends eating at the 2 p.m. seating. I am praying that your Thanksgiving meal was as delicious and memorable as mine.
Canal Street Lighting Ceremony
special visit from Santa Claus accentuated this year’s event!
I was all lighted in my red outfit to welcome the Holiday Season at the annual Canal Street Lighting Ceremony held on Tuesday, November 26 at the Astor Crowne Plaza at Canal and Bourbon streets.
The Downtown Development District and the Astor Crowne Plaza, invited everyone to come out to see the “flip the switch” ceremony that turned on more than 1 million twinkling lights on historic Canal Street and throughout Downtown NOLA. The Voices of St. Peter Claver and a special visit from Santa Claus accentuated this year’s event!
Darlings as in the past, the annual lighting of the exquisite Christmas Tree at the Lobby of the Windsor Court was lovely.
The Windsor Court loves Christmas, and they always bring in this elegant family holiday in style. The annual Christmas Tree Lighting was packed with holiday cheer, and people were happy to nosh on the plethora of delicious cheeses, meats, holiday punch, and bubbly going around.
In attendance were the owners of the hotel and their children, plus our Honorable Mayor LaToya Cantrell, Councilman Jay Banks and so many more lovely New Orleans citizens and socialites. The tree was brought to bright life by all the excited little kids in attendance who counted down and threw the switch together.
