A Toast to New Orleans and YOU -Week of November 20-27 . Lighting of Downtown Business District/ Fete de Napoleon/ Bayou Classic/Happy Thanksgiving & more..

Good afternoon my darling family and friends. It is Monday, November 20, the first day of 2023 Thanksgiving Week!
“Every morning you have two choices: continue to sleep with your dreams or wake up & chase them.” — Kristin, Sophisticated Gal 1
Wishing you a happy Monday and a great Thanksgiving week ahead!”  Wishing you a joyful, blessed Thanksgiving 2023!
WOW! Last week was one of those weeks that I wished I had a clone to attend every soiree that I was interested in attending! Like Queen Elizabeth (RIP) I have mobility issues and I must recharge my batteries to keep going. And going......!
Here are some of the fabulous events that I attended:
The Thanksgiving Round Table Luncheon at Gennifer Flowers 's Paris Room was a great success thanks to the informative speakers Natalie Jayroe, CEO of Second Harvest Food Bank and Greg Lambousy, Director of New Orleans Jazz Museum, the entertainment by Marshall Harris, Carl Mack & Bill Hudson and the delicious Thanksgiving Luncheon prepared by Kitsy Adams and her staff.  I am looking forward to the spectacular Round Holiday Table Luncheon on December 15 at Briquette’s!  2 first photos by Frank Stansbury
The annual Louisiana Museum Foundation ‘s Founders Ball opening featuring a retrospective of talented Hunt Slonem was spectacular
What a fun Patron Party for the Annual Son of a Saint Gala at the Four Seasons

The lovely historic Labrobe’s was the setting for the fun filled VCPORA’s A Royal Masquerade: 85 Years Around the Sun Gala! \ The VCPORA Gala is our most important annual event and one that offers our community the chance to support and celebrate the Vieux Carré and its oldest guardian, VCPORA.  The preservation of the Vieux Carré relies on the generosity of those who understand the critical importance of this historic, cultural, and architectural gem.  The Patron party featured Moroccan master guitarist, well known for his Jazz-inspired music and his vibrant stringed arrangements: Mahmoud Chouki with guests.  The delicious main gala featured rousing tunes by the Smoking Time Jazz Club along with other sneaky and sultry performances. The Gala also included a live and silent auction of delectable items from local boutiques and hospitality partners. We danced the night away under the “whisper dome” while supporting the preservation of the beloved Vieux Carre!
Darlings, it is beginning to feel like Christmas, and it is that time of the year that we need to plan which of the 12 days of Christmas you and your table are you going to be at my spectacular festive, Holiday Round Table Luncheon on Friday, December 15 at 11:30 a.m. at Briquette's . I know that Punkin and Sammy have Day 5 and Triness have 7 Swans.  The entertainment will be unforgettable! Please let me know ASAP which day are you and your table:
BRAVO! The JPAS presentation of Looped by Matthew Lombardo, directed by talented Janet Shea with Leslie Castay as Tallulah Bankhead, Eric Lincoln as Danny Miller and David Haydel Jr. as Steve was superb. Darlings,  I am so delighted that I was able to attend the last performance of the Lopped as Tallulah entertained us with her titillating stories, quips, insults, and a few of her secrets.
Please RSVP and pay for the annual Holiday Extravaganza December 15 at Briquette's before it is sold out.

I am saddened by the death of former First Lady Rosalynn Carter. While living inNYC during the eventies in NYC, I had the honor of meeting Rosalynn at a political party at Lincoln Center and former President Jimmy Carter at a party at the United Nations hosted by civil right activist Andrew Young.. Sorry no selfies.

Louisiana float to roll in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

by: Keymonte Avery

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Louisiana Office of Tourism announced the state of Louisiana will participate in the 97th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

According to a release, Louisiana’s float, the Celebration Gator, will take the streets of New York. The Gator celebrates Louisiana’s culture and tourism as it showcases the designs and architecture of the New Orleans French Quarter.

The 60-foot-long alligator-themed float will feature Cajun fiddler Amanda Shaw of Mandeville and country singer Alex Smith of Alexandria. Along with the musicians, the float will be accompanied by guests in gator costumes and stilt walkers.

“We are excited to have Amanda and Alex riding the Louisiana float this year and performing for us,” said Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser. “Once again, it is an amazing opportunity to share with the world our music and how Louisianans can Feed Your Soul with our celebratory spirit.”
