WOW !  It seems that #1 Bitch Mickey Esterling lives on but this time in dirt! My darling longtime friend Kevin Kelly, owner of Houmas House Plantation and Gardens and the new Great River Road Museum bought from her daughter Nancy at auction, the nude sculpture of a very skinny Mickey holding a cigarette and a champagne glass. The sculpture with a glass top graced her home along with a myriad of portraits of Mickey.
In case you did not know Mickey saw me as a younger rival and hated me more than I disliked her. I hope she enjoys her resting Place!

Enjoy seeing Jena Bush and her twin Barbara at the signing of their lovely book “Love Comes First” at the Garden District Bookstore. I love seeing all the children having a fun time while we wait in line.

Sit back and let one of Hollywood’s favorite “bad girls” entertain you with her titillating stories, quips, insults, and a few of her secrets.

WARNING: This play contains strong language and explicit sexual references.

This three-person drama is based on a real event that took place in the summer of 1965, when an inebriated Tallulah Bankhead required a full day to redub - or loop - one line of dialogue for her last movie, Die! Die! My Darling! The recording session ends up lasting 8 hours due to her drunken behavior, physical and mental meanderings, and constant need for dialogue, distraction, reassurance, and her own brand of talk therapy with the tech crew. Secrets are revealed, confessions are made, and both Tallulah and the sound engineer end up “looping back” to their own traumas to understand their lives.

The Louisiana Museum Foundation (LMF) is proud to announce the 2023 Founders Ball V to open a new exhibition at the Louisiana State Museum (LSM) at The Cabildo entitled Hunt Slonem: A Retrospective. This exhibit will present a retrospective that showcases the lifelong dedication of world-renowned artist Hunt Slonem to his legacy, his time at Tulane and how it deepened his connection to New Orleans, and his inspirational relationship with the state of Louisiana and how it has influenced his career.

This annual event marks the fifth year of the Founders Ball and is The Louisiana Museum Foundation and Louisiana State Museum's most anticipated and participated event of the year. WOW! I don't want to miss these exciting events:
SAMBA & COCKTAILS COME TO BK HOUSE
Exciting Programming Reminiscent of Historic Roots
Once a center for immigrants coming into the French Quarter, the Historic BK House & Gardens served as a rooming house and welcomed many nationalities as people arrived at New Orleans via the Mississippi River. Thus, programming continues to focus on various cultures including a Brazilian showcase and Italian presentation this month.
On Sunday, November 19, Sounds of Brazil with Amigos do Samba will be featured the BK House. The ensemble specializes in samba traditionally played around a table with a variety of Brazilian percussion, string, and wind instruments. Since 2016, their mission is to bring the "Roda de Samba", well-known in Brazil, to New Orleans. They feature a mix of US natives, Brazilians, and beyond, including Victoria Douton, Felipe Leite, Fernando Lima, Scott Myers, Leo Oliveira, Tedo Oliveira, Ezra Spira-Cohen, and others. Tickets are $40 ($30 for members). Light refreshments will be served but guests are encouraged to bring their own beverages of choice, openers, and extra cups. Doors will open at 5:30 pm for the 6 o’clock show. Tickets are available at www.bkhouse.org.
Italians had a strong presence in the French Quarter in the 1860s, when Dominique Lanata purchased the house as a rental. Antoine Lanata eventually moved into the house, which was later sold by Lanata heirs to the Giacona family.
To celebrate the Museum’s Italian heritage, a unique program is planned on Thursday, November 30,entitled, “The Brandy Crusta & The Bersaglieri”, highlighting Italian connections to a New Orleans cocktail. The captivating presentation will introduce attendees to the influence of Italian bartender, Joseph Santini, of the original Jewel of the South Bar as inventor of the Brandy Crusta in the 1850s, and the thrilling story of how Santini, along with 280 Italians, many members of the elite Bersaglieri, protected the French Quarter during the Union Navy occupation in 1862.  The lecture by Charles Marsala will include a tasting of the acclaimed cocktail.  Doors open at 5:30 for the 6 pm program.  Tickets are $25 for nonmembers; $20 for members and may be purchased at  www.bkhouse.org.
