A Toast to New Orleans and YOU: May 23-30 ;Chamber After Five/Benefit for Ukraine/Round Table Luncheon Saluting Culinary Arts /Secret garden Tours /Greek Fest/ Happy Memorial Day Weekend

Good afternoon my darling family and friends. Let's attack Monday, May 23 with enthusiasm, laughter, thousands of smiles, and cheerfulness. I hope you enjoyed your weekend as much as I did. I got my dosage of live theater by first attending the fabulous Le Petit Theater's "A Night with Jonis Joplin " and later "Mean Girls at the Saenger." I also enjoyed the annual Project Lazarus Guardian Angel Award Gala. This week is going to be fun since it includes my Round Table Luncheon Saluting the Culinary Arts on Friday, May 27 at NOCHI.  Have a blessed week. Stay cool & hydrated.
What a fun evening at the always fabulous Project Lazarus Annual Guardian Angel Award Gala at the Ace Hotel. Returning after a 2-year hiatus, the spectacular event featured a cocktail hour, an elegant three-course meal, an award ceremony, and a high-end live auction. Sr. Judy Gomila and Danny Akers served as co-chairs. This year's event celebrated some of our most impactful and passionate volunteers as Guardian Angels: Jane Wilbert, who served as our Assistant Director in the 1990's and has continued to stay deeply involved with the organization; and Gary Schiro, who has chaired our Bon Appétit fundraiser since 2015 and elevated it to incredible new heights. It also honored Cleveland Guillot, Jr. posthumously, and celebrate the life of our beloved Executive Director Steve Rivera, who passed away so unexpectedly just a year ago. It was a very memorable evening for a great cause.
Round Table Luncheon on Friday, May 27 at noon will salute the Culinary Arts at the New Orleans Culinary & Hospitality Institute (NOCHI)

We will join Big Easy Award winners Lisa Picone Love, cocktail historian Elizabeth Pearce and pianist Jim Walpole for "Dry: A Prohibition Cabaret." This trio will take you on a journey through "America's noble experiment," told in a way you have never heard before in song! From rousing temperance hymns to cheeky tunes about all the ways to drink legally and illegally during this time, it will be a show to remember. You won’t want to miss this very special show of cocktails, history, and song! In its honor, guests are dressing in 1920's Roaring Twenty attire.  Parking is available for only $6 for 5 hours at

Darlings, I feel so blessed to have very darling friends. Being an Anglophile I always dream of being in London during one of the Queen Elizabeth festivities. I have been to London, my favorite European city over ten times but never to coincide with a Queen's celebration and of course this year Queen's Platinum 75th Jubilee will be an incredible special weekend and I will be there June 1-6 with my darling friend Laurie Scott thanks to a darling longtime friend in the airline business. May the Lord spill all her blessings on her. 🥰😜https://www.telegraph.co.uk/royal-family/2022/05/23/the-platinum-jubilee-2022-queen-bank-holiday-dates-events-when/
This week, I learned of   the sudden death of one of my darling friends Cesar Martino. He was one of the first people and his lovely wife Mary Vega that I met when they lived in Marigny near to my brother Lorenzo. May deepest condolences to Mary and his family.  I will treasure the memories of the lovely time spent with him.
Darlings enjoy your week and a very joyful, healthy and cool Memorial day Weekend.
