A Toast to New Orleans and YOU: May 23-30 ;Chamber After Five/Benefit for Ukraine/Round Table Luncheon Saluting Culinary Arts /Secret garden Tours /Greek Fest/ Happy Memorial Day Weekend
Good afternoon my darling family and friends. Let's attack Monday, May 23 with enthusiasm, laughter, thousands of smiles, and cheerfulness. I hope you enjoyed your weekend as much as I did. I got my dosage of live theater by first attending the fabulous Le Petit Theater's "A Night with Jonis Joplin " and later "Mean Girls at the Saenger." I also enjoyed the annual Project Lazarus Guardian Angel Award Gala. This week is going to be fun since it includes my Round Table Luncheon Saluting the Culinary Arts on Friday, May 27 at NOCHI. Have a blessed week. Stay cool & hydrated.
What a fun evening at the always fabulous Project Lazarus Annual Guardian Angel Award Gala at the Ace Hotel. Returning after a 2-year hiatus, the spectacular event featured a cocktail hour, an elegant three-course meal, an award ceremony, and a high-end live auction. Sr. Judy Gomila and Danny Akers served as co-chairs. This year's event celebrated some of our most impactful and passionate volunteers as Guardian Angels: Jane Wilbert, who served as our Assistant Director in the 1990's and has continued to stay deeply involved with the organization; and Gary Schiro, who has chaired our Bon Appétit fundraiser since 2015 and elevated it to incredible new heights. It also honored Cleveland Guillot, Jr. posthumously, and celebrate the life of our beloved Executive Director Steve Rivera, who passed away so unexpectedly just a year ago. It was a very memorable evening for a great cause.
