Good morning my darling family and friends.
A cool Sunday, December 19, Saints Game Day  await us.  Let's welcome it with gratefulness in our heart for being alive and safe.
Today,  I am looking forward to going to the Patio Planters of the Vieux Carre 's  2021 French Quarter Holiday Home Tour and Caroling at Jackson Square.
On this lovely Sunday, remember to take a deep breath and relax. Enjoy your family, your friends, and indulge yourself in a nice cup of coffee. Surround yourself with positive people, who’ll give you bright emotions and Sunday will be unforgettable! May your Sunday be blessed with love, joy, peace and happiness.

Every year I have been saying there is NO PLACE LIKE HOME FOR THE HOLIDAY! Well, tomorrow I am flying to join my brother Lorenzo and my darling cousins at my beloved home in Santo Domingo. I have not spend Christmas at home for decades.
This past week was full of holiday activities but of course, co-hosting along with Liz Broekman, Sammy Steele and Michael Langford was the highlight of my week.
The festive entertainment, the creative attires, the champagne flowing, the delicious food  and the exquisite  Pinot Noir generously donated by talented James Moises, Winemaker at Moises wines /  ER physician/ owner Bizou Fine Wine Importers and Distributors at Krewe du Bizou Wines, LLC made the festive RTL at Briquette's to be a very memorable one.

On Thursday, along with my darling longtime friend Dean Shapiro we enjoyed attending  at the Orpheum
Classical Christmas with the LPO. We experienced the glory of the Messiah alongside the holiday’s greatest classical music by Bach, Schubert and Vaughan Williams.Afterwards we stopped by the exquisite, festive Lobby of the Roosevelt Hotel where ran into longtime friends.
As in the past I look forward to attending the annual celebrations of Friday before Christmas that included Luncheon at Galatoire's. This year was very specail because the proceeds of the Table Auction benefit Patio Panters of the Vieux Carre as well as Covenant House and the Glatoire's Foundation. i count my blessing because i was invited to join not just one but two tables heralded by Joey DiFalta, President of  Patio Planters and hostess with the mostest Glenda Ribelin. Afterwards I walked down Bourbon Street where  I ran into many darling longtime friends as I was headed to a visit  to Broussard’s, Antoine’s, The Rib Room !
Congratulation to the new Royalty of the Krewe of Jeanne de Arc.
The Krewe de Jeanne d’Arc is pleased to announce the 2022 Honorary Characters!

The Krewe de Jeanne d’Arc held a coronation reception and ceremony at the Historic New Orleans Collection courtyard in the French Quarter.  The krewe, which will parade for the fourteenth time on January 6, 2022 celebrating St. Joan’s 610th birthday, selects the honorary characters in the parade in recognition of their service to the community and their embodiment of the mission of the krewe.

King Charles XII will be portrayed by Joseph Andre Mistrot, III. Mr. Mistrot is the current president of L’Union Francaise, the oldest Franco-American nonprofit organization in Louisiana celebrating its 150 anniversary in 2022. Of both French and Cajun heritage, he is passionate about preserving French language and Francophone cultures. He is also the executive assistant to the dean of the School of Liberal Arts at Tulane. The krewe honors Mr. Mistrot for his ongoing role in celebrating our French heritage.

Queen Yolande will be portrayed by Ti Adelaide Martin, co-owner of Commander’s Palace. Ms. Martin is also the founder of the New Orleans Proud to Call it Home campaign, co-founder and chair of New Orleans Culinary and Hospitality Institute, and a driving force behind the new airport terminal in her role as finance chair. Ms. Martin is an inspiring mentor to young women and embodies the spirit of Queen Yolande in her support of the community.

The Maid of Orleans will be portrayed by Ava R. Wilkes, a freshman at Washington and Lee University and resident of New Orleans. She is the daughter of Andrea and Ren Wilkes and attended École Biligue, Audubon Charter School, and Benjamin Franklin High School. Ms. Wilkes won the contest held to select the young woman who best represents the qualities of Joan. She was a member of the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Board and continues to be a voice for her community. In her acceptance speech, given in French and English, Ms. Wilkes said, “Joan of Arc inspires us by remaining true to herself despite all odds. Through the weapon of her faith, Joan of Arc was able to change the course of history. Joan knew how to set an example for her community, and instill values and ideas that, while unorthodox, shaped the world around her for the better.”

The court was welcomed by krewe founder, Amy Kirk Duvoisin, and Co-Captains Antoinette de Alteriis and Amanda Helm.
Watch our website and Facebook page for more details on how you can join us as we celebrate St. Joan and her influence on the city of New Orleans and the world!
