Darlings
Congratulations are in order to our Beloved Saints and specially to Drew Brees that made history last night at the Superdome.
Drew Brees' 62-yard touchdown pass to rookie Tre'Quan Smith made him the NFL's all-time leader in yards passing and sent the New Orleans Saints well on their way to a lopsided 43-19 victory over the mistake-prone Washington Redskins on Monday night.
What not it the best way to end a Columbus 's Day Weekend ? t I hope you had a restful and enjoyable Columbus Day Weekend like I did. .
But prior to Monday, I was running like an EverReady bunny from one fun event to another. Among those that I attended were:
Que Pasa Fest 2018 Kick Off!
HNOC's Reopening of Louisiana History Galleries
I joined the Historic New Orleans Collection for a very special event celebrating the reopening of the Louisiana History Galleries featuring 13 galleries and nearly 300 treasures illustrating the fascinating, multicultural history of our state and celebrating our city in its 300th year. The lovely celebration, sponsored by Chase/J.P. Morgan took place on the second floor of 533 Royal Street and included the dedication of the George E. Jordan and Michael G. Delhaise Gallery. I was elated to see my longtime friend, George E. Jordan, who told me last night, that he even remembered when I first arrived from NYC to New Orleans. I was very saddened to learn that his partner and a darling friend of mine, Michael G. Delhaise, died a few years ago. He was in the Diplomatic Corps and died in his 50s. I loved him and pray that his soul is RIP. A delicious reception followed with light fares, refreshments and entertainment.
The Women of the Storm Luncheon
The Women of the Storm Luncheon at The Pavilion of Two Sisters at City Park was indeed a celebration of the power of women.
The luncheon honored LaToya Cantrell, Mayor of the City of New Orleans, and Tania Tetlow, J.D, the first lay and first woman president of Loyola since the university’s founding in 1912. Tania Tetlow, the 17th president of Loyola, is a Catholic as well as a New Orleans resident, and she came to Loyola New Orleans from neighboring Tulane University, where she served as senior vice president and chief of staff and the Felder-Fayard Professor of Law.

Art for Arts’ Sake 2018
As in the past, Art for Arts’ Sake was so much fun. I started it by visiting a few of the galleries that were participating in Art for Arts’ Sake in the Warehouse District. Sorry I didn't go to more of them since I was going to the inaugural "A Haunting Affair" at the Women’s Opera Guild Home.

Inaugural “A HAUNTING AFFAIR"
The exquisite mansion of the Women's Guild of the New Orleans Opera at 2504 Prytania St. was the setting for the fabulous Inaugural Masquerade Ball, “A HAUNTING AFFAIR."
Chaired by my darling friends, Mary Flynn and Karen Villavaso, the haunted evening offered guests a lavish feast of heavenly food, wicked libations, dancing to the music of the popular Yat Pack, entertainment by opera singers, a Tarot Card reader and a costume contest that was won by my talented friend, Valerie Grubb, as the Spookiest Costume. Congratulations! It was indeed a spooky night and I cannot wait until next year.
