WOW- What a week in my beloved New Orleans!
I have been wearing two of my favorite colors, Hot Pink and Orange, to attend and enjoy all the festivities associated with FestiGals, the New Orleans Girlfriend Weekend which is New Orleans' first and only women-centric festival held each summer for women to enjoy themselves and we sure did. Check out the photo links.

Diane Lyons and Sandra Dartus with 2015 Grand Diva Irma Thomas, 2016 Angela Hill and 2011 Grand Diva Margarita Bergen
I started the FestiGals Festivities on Thursday. Beloved TV / Radio Broadcaster Angela Hill was crowned as 2016 Grand Diva of the FestiGals 2016 at the JW Marriott Lobby Bar.https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10153558354960870.1073742691.581200869&type=1&l=58bb5784cd
WOW AGAIN! What a lovely way to spend an afternoon at the FestiGals Brunch. The Fashion Show with Cancer Survivor Models was just lovely and then the male entertainers were a riot with Kenny Lopez, Marshall Harris and a friend. I was thrilled to win the beautiful hat contest that was designed by talented Haute Dames. The price was a beautiful hat and purse by talented Jeffrey McIlwain.https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10153562266200870.1073742692.581200869&type=1&l=b808367ccb
Led by legendary Angela Hill, the 2016 Grand Diva of FestiGals, the Stiletto Stroll was outstanding. The parade had a GLO theme, “Shining light on domestic violence.” I followed Angela in my darling friend Ian Hardcastle's beautiful Red Corniche Convertible Roll Royce. I was joined by 2013 Grand Diva Lydia Benson, Vic Planetta who drove the Rolls and my darling friends Sammy Steele andMelanie Cole. The entertainment by the Rockin Dopsie Jr Band at the After Party at Mardi Gras World was awesome. I enjoyed so much being surrounded by beautiful, talented women and men at this worthy cause. FestiGals is donating all proceeds of the event to the New Orleans Family Justice Center which helps families and individuals suffering from domestic violence.

Prior to the FestiGals festivities, I enjoyed tremendously the preview of Tulane Summer Lyric's production of Big River. The cast that included beloved Ricky Graham was superb. It was the last production of the 2016 Summer Lyric season!
On a Sad note - New Orleans community lost one of its pillars, the beloved Juanita Pradel. Her funeral will be this Friday. Juanita Till Pradel's Obituary on The New Orleans Advocate

Watch Dog
(aka the first 'Blue Dog' painting)
Between 1981 and 1984 Rodrigue painted forty canvases depicting different Cajun ghost stories. Although rooted in his Cajun Style, this important collection includes Watch Dog, Rodrigue’s imagined interpretation of the "loup-garou"-- this is the painting that launched his most famous body of work, The Blue Dog Series.
All forty canvases will be exhibited publicly for the first time at the George Rodrigue Foundation of the Arts (747 Magazine, @ Julia St.) opening on White Linen Night, Saturday Aug. 6.
