Irish Vocalist Vali Talbot accompanied on the piano by talented pianist Jim Walpole at Round Table Luncheon.
Darlings,
Greetings from the sunny but chilly Emerald Coast where I came for a few days to recharge my battery at my brother Lorenzo's timeshare condo.
Before I left, I enjoyed attending a myriad of fun social events that included hosting my A TRES CHIC ROUND TABLE LUNCHEON at Dickie Brennan's Bourbon House. Guests enjoyed a delicious luncheon accompanied by flowing champagne and wines, a fashion show coordinated by Tracee Dundas, CEO and Founder of Fashion Week of beautiful clothes. Live entertainment was by Irish Vocalist Vali Talbot accompanied on the piano by talented pianist Jim Walpole. prior to the Fashion show and then talented T-Ray the Violinist who performed and wowed guests with his contemporary violin music

That evening, I had the pleasure of attending the preview party of the annual New Orleans Museum of Art's Art in Bloom. The annual NOMA Art in Bloom was like in the past, exquisite! It showcased spectacular floral designs created by over 100 exhibitors that remained on display at NOMA for five days. This year’s theme, “Artful Entertaining,” brought together exhibitors from New Orleans and beyond to celebrate the art of entertaining. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10153276770850870.1073742627.581200869&type=1&l=eacb3108be
On St. Patrick's Day, as in the past, I had the pleasure to be invited to the Media Evening at the exquisite Houmas House Plantations and Gardens. Every year I look forward to visiting the exquisite gardens, so lovingly tended by Renaissance man / gardener/ poet and artist Craig Black and, of course, its ownerKevin Michael Kelly. As in the past, Veuve Cliquot champagne was flowing freely from the beautiful Turtle Bar. The bubbly and delicious hors d’oeuvres were followed by an equally delicious meal at the Carriage House, prepared in our honor by talented Executive Chef Joseph Dicapo.
Celebrating St Patrick's Day at Kevin Kelly ' Houmas House Plantation is an very memorable experience!

On Friday, I took it easy since I knew I had a spectacular night to attend on Saturday. The Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra's Opus Ball at the Orpheum Theatre was quite a spectacular night. Chaired by my darling friends Angela Hill and Gayle Benson, the evening celebrated two very important anniversaries: the LPO's 25th season and Carlos Miguel Prieto's tenth year as the Adelaide Wisdom Benjamin Music Director and Principal Conductor.
The evening featured a performance by the LPO, led by Maestro Prieto, and a new work by Samuel Zyman, showcasing Carlos' father, renowned cellist Carlos Prieto, Sr.

It was followed by a delicious sit-down dinner, catered by Horst Pfeifer's Bella Luna. Guests bid high at the live auction and enjoyed dancing. I left early since I wanted to catch the lovely St. Joseph's Altar atTony Marino's residence on Bourbon Street.

The following day, I left New Orleans to come to Destin, Florida. As in the past, no matter what days I pick to get away I am going to miss something. The much-anticipated piano recital by Dr. Quinn Peeper, Michael Harold andAlbinas Prizgintas, in conjunction with the Bishop Perry Center series of free public concerts for Lent at St. Mary Church on Chartres Street in the French Quarter, was postponed due to inclement weather. It has been rescheduled for this Tuesday, March 22 at 6 p.m. but I’m still going to miss it. I will not be back in New Orleans until Wednesday evening but those of you who are here should make a point of getting out to attend this concert. I would love to have a photo that show all three talented pianists playing so, if any of you are planning to attend and take pictures, please be sure to send some of them to me.
I am also going to miss another great happening on Tuesday, March 22, at Garden District Book Shop, 2727 Prytania Street. That’s where Mary Millan (AKA Bloody Mary) will be presenting and reading Bloody Mary's Guide to Hauntings, Horrors, and Dancing With the Dead: True Stories from the Voodoo Queen of New Orleans.
Darlings, It seems that I am going to be getting back to New Orleans just in time to attend some exciting functions.

One of the events that I am looking forward to attending is the annual Tennessee Williams Literary Festival, scheduled from March 30 to April 3. There will be showings of several of Williams’ best-known and lesser-known works, including The Glass Menagerie at Le Petit Theatre, plus literary panel discussions, tours and – not to be overlooked – the always-fun “Stella!” shouting concert in Jackson Square below the Pontalba Apartments’ balcony. For more details go to http://www.tennesseewilliams.net/festival.
And, for a variation on the Tennessee Williams theme, please be sure to check out Second Star Performance Collective’s presentation of “Two for Tennessee” at NOCCA’s Nims Black Box Theater. Two original one-act, half-hour plays, written by Jon Broder and Stephanie Garrison, will be staged over the weekend of March 30-April 2, both with themes loosely derived from Williams’ body of work. Produced byN. Harold Gervais with sets and lighting by Dan Zimmer and a talented cast of local actors. To read more about this showcase presentation, check out the article in Thursday’s New Orleans Advocate – posted online Wednesday evening.
Have a great week. It is yours to be!
