Darlings,
Ever since my return from my brief vacation to Destin with my darling dog Chiquita and her canine friends, I have been in a social whirl. So what else is new?
Well, I attended the lovely networking at the Marais Hotel: An Evening with World Trade Center, World Affairs Council and New Orleans Board of Trade. I love networking and seeing fellow business people.
On Saturday, after working at Casell Bergen Gallery, I stepped out to attend the Disco-themed 16th annual CHAIRISH THE CHILDREN at the Louisiana's Children Museum. It was so much fun and reminded me a little bit of the ‘70s in Studio 54 in NYC where I was a regular.

That evening I was invited by Willie Fiske, owner of the Bombay Club, to toast her late husband and my dearly departed friend, Richard Fiske, and the move of The Bombay Club to its new digs - the Chateau Lemoyne
By the way, in case you missed it, I made the list!
Darlings, this upcoming week is going to be a social marathon especially on Wednesday, August 27, when the cultural season kicks off with the Sixth Annual Culture Collision. This FREE annual happy hour will be at a new location: The National WWII Museum's US Freedom Pavilion in The Boeing Center. The event will run from 5:30-8:00 p.m.
This year, the annual event will bring together more than 60 of New Orleans' nonprofit visual and performing arts organizations -- including Southern Rep! Attendees will have a chance to scope out upcoming performances, take advantage of exclusive ticket promotions, and meet like-minded arts and theater lovers. I never miss this fabulous forum!
That evening my darling friend, composer/conductor Raul Gomez and his lovely wife Ruby Lou Smith have invited me to Compleat Stage's latest offering, “An Evening of Short Stories and Sounds,” that takes the stage Wednesday, Aug. 27, at The Frenchmen Theatre. Ruby Lou, Compleat Stage’s artistic director, and her collaborator husband view a script as an incomplete entity, an opportunity, and seek to infuse it with multiple perspectives and artistic disciplines. http://www.theneworleansadvocate.com/entertainment/arts/9984458-171/actors-musicians-artists-ask-audience
Talented fiddler and vocalist Amanda Shaw will be entertaining the audience at Wednesday at the Point at the Algiers Point Ferry Landing at 5:30 p.m.
On Thursday, August 28, it is The Hispanic Business Conference and Tradeshow from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Harrah's New Orleans -Vieux Carre Ballroom I & II.
