I hope you enjoyed Mother's Day surrounded by your love ones and remembered those who are no longer with us such as my darling mother, Consuelo Bergen Suarez,who I am sure is always looking down at me from Heaven!
I enjoyed so much the annual VCPORA's Annual Mother's Day Picnic and Concert with The New Leviathan Oriental Fox-Trot Orchestra at Cabrini Park. I was joined by my brother, Lorenzo Bergen, and my beloved Chiquita and many friends.
The New Leviathan Oriental Fox-Trot Orchestra is an American revival orchestra that performs authentic orchestrations of vintage American popular music from the 1890s through the early 1930s.

This week is going to be a very busy and fun week since I will be hosting my annual Round Table Luncheon Saluting FestiGals on Wednesday, May 17 at noon at the Bourbon Orleans Hotel.
Today is the last day to make reservations so I know how much champagne to buy and how many meals the chef needs to cook for Wednesday.

The Hon. Councilwoman Layota Cantrell; Mayra Pineda, President of Hispanic Chamber of Commerce; and Caitlin Cain, CEO of World Trade Center, have been invited as guests of the Luncheon, in addition to Jamie Peckenpaugh, Executive Director of the New Orleans Wine and Food Experience and Grand Diva of FestiGals,Robin Barnes, who will be the live entertainer!
The luncheon will be co-hosted by Diane Lyons, Founder of FestiGals, Inc., and Sandra Dartus, Partnership Liaison for Festigals, Inc. This annual "New Orleans Women's Weekend Experience" is a celebration of women and New Orleans and it will take place June 24-26 at the JW Marriott Hotel on Canal Street.
The featured speaker, Jamie Peckenpaugh, will speak about the upcoming NOWFE from May 25-28. This 25th annual festival, celebrating wine and food, attracts food and wine connoisseurs - as well as art and music lovers - to various venues throughout the French Quarter.
In addition, there will be a mini fashion show featuring Mimi Holaday, New Orleans Fashion Week Design Winner. The show will be coordinated by Tracee Dundas,founder of New Orleans Fashion Week. Beautiful hats will be on display and for sale by talented Haute Dames.
We will be entertained by the talented “Songbird of New Orleans,” Robin Barnes who, it was recently announced, will reign as the 2017 Grand Diva of FestiGals.

Both concerts start at 7:30 p.m. Renowned Spanish-style guitarist Pepe Romero of the famous Romero guitar family, will star in this Hispanic-themed concert that closes out the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra’s 2016-17 season at the Orpheum Theater.
Senor Romero will be playing one of the best-known pieces in his repertoire, “Fantasia para un gentilhombre” (Fantasy for a Gentleman) by Joaquín Rodrigo, a 20th century composer whose works Romero has performed numerous times. Other selections on the program are “Corridos” (Calendar) by Mexican composer Salvador Contreras, and the ballet music for “El Sombrero de Tres Picos” (The Three-Cornered Hat) by Manuel de Falla.
The orchestra will be accompanied by the New Orleans Vocal Arts (NOVA) Masterworks chorale under the direction of Dr. Meg Frazier with featured guest soloist, soprano Rose Mannino. LPO Music Director Carlos Miguel Prieto conducts.
